Battle Tactic: Iron Cross
Cavalry armies like Huns or chariot forces like Britions will often outflank the heavy infantry and attack your javelin units from their rear. To avoid this, post them inside the heavy infantry squares, not behind them. Also, you may use a formation I invented called the IRON CROSS. It consists of 4 squared legions arranged in a larger square with the two perpendicular javelin units inside of it, intersecting at the center of this larger square. This offers all around fields of fire for the javelins, who have all around protection by heavy legions. In five separate tests, I defeated and drove off massive Hun attacks. Each single attack consisted of 4 full armies (480 Huns). Using this method, I had 58-62 troops left each time, mostly heavy units. Horrible looses, but I did win against great odds.
