Completed Valentia with decent ratings. Could some experts please look at it and give me suggestions on:
1) Are there any obvious mistakes in distributing food and goods? Some of my housing units devolved a lot (esp. the ones living on sea food). How can I improve the stability?
2) Any other comments on improving the map? While comments specific to stability and food distribution will be most useful to me, I'd appreciate any tip to get better at this game.
That is really a remarkable city you build there. Your strategy with only one fountain in the middle is very interesting. I'll give it a try. Those palaces are amazing, specialy the big ones. Do you start them by having a road on both sides and then remove the back roads?

werfb,
Thanks for the comment. I'm not an expert player, and the housing blocks aren't my own. You'll see that the basic 9x9 housing block is very common, if you run a search. Check the strategy section of this site for some guidance. For the palace block, I used a guide I found here:
For the luxury palaces, I lay the road outline, pitch a few tents (equal to the no. of palaces I want) with at least 4x4 spacing, then add service buildings. The medium palace block (my smaller palaces) are much easier, its just a single line and all buildings. They can be turned into luxury palaces very easily by adding a chariot maker near the Colosseum (this is specific to my Valentia layout).
NOTE TO OTHERS: I named the file as Valentia.sav, so please don't extract this file in your save directory coz it might overwrite your existing Valentia (in case you saved it with the same name). Will remember to use better names next time.
