After your delightful exploits turning the... quaint, settlement of Grimsby into
a thriving port of garum production for the Empire, it seems the appetite of the
common pleb for this most sacred sauce can not be sated. Not only that the patricians
have begun to clamour for more and more unique flavours.

Thus you are being sent to a place in most northern Britannia named the Shetland islands.
God forbid.
Found a small colony, export fish, and try not to freeze.

Do not disappoint me Governor.

Anyways ... Terrible map. Feels impossible. I am sure someone can crack it though.
Filou Is it normal that I got a price change for furniture and no fish export, when the story is about exporting fish and there is no furniture trade in the empire?

I got crushed under the 1500 pop glass ceiling, will try again tomorrow.

mathieu Here is a screenshot of my attempt going for GI only. But with this build, there is not enough space for 2.5k pop. Beside of this, two more farms are needed to feed all people and with 20+ housings, at least one more pottery and furniture workshop is needed to run it stable for a few more years.

If one goes for LI together with some patricians, just two farms are needed which gives a little more space. Probably a better approach to this map? :)

Filou The LI worked well but I didnt succeed at evolving patricians.
Not sure this is a map for Augustus at all but for sure I dont see success anywhere near me without copying your very cool market loop.
Governor Jon @ChrKn I was going to but it doesn't really matter.

For those who want to try this map, it may not be possible, I like experimenting with tiny maps and send them to Jake (and Baron) to test on streams. Just be forwarned that I don't expect anyone to complete it after watching Jake's attempt.

Im very near. I got the 2500 beds.
Now need to reach them earlier to achieve the prosperity and occupation.

I wish there was fish export in that horrific map. not that I could spare any food. I just spent a couple of days on it.

mathieu I can't find a way to get a stable city. A win is a win :D Even with some tent spam in the end. I also tried the LI approach together with a patrician. But with that little space, its very hard to get the needed desirability.

I leave this map to the old gods here :)

Can you explain what you did with the hospital in the patrician attempt? I understand the market loop but not this one. You also did it with venus on your 1st attempt.

My design is somewhat chaotic. As you say, not much space for desirability.

mathieu This just looks a little awkward because of the gardens in the backroad. The gardens prevent the market ladies from spawning on the backside. Forced market ladies only work, if they spawn on the frontside and then return on the backside. To be more precise, they need to get the stuff where the lower right tile is connected. If you have markets from top to down, they need to spawn on the right side and then return on the left side. Same technique is used for the venus temple. It spawns on the front side, and then returns on the backside, providing access to religion for all houses.

The hospital in this position works, as there would be normal road tiles. This is due to the fact, that random walkers can cross gardens.

You can also use gardens, to block getting market ladies. I used this option, to deliver the 2nd and 3rd type of food only to the patricians. The three forced markets, can't get food from the granary to the right, but the market close by can. After the market is stuffed, the distribution market lady can cross the garden to reach the patricians. I copied this very cool technique from trolgu :)

I hope this helps :) Please don't take this information for granted. This is from my own observations and reading through the forum. It's maybe wrong :D

The gardens in the back road is a little hacky. There are players, who can control the spawning of the market ladies by planning the road network accordingly. But this is far from my abilities in this game :D
