Map made for Julius but seems doable in Augusuts
Instructions - Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the Eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. It was a wealthy town, with a population of ca. 11,000 in AD 79 enjoying many fine public buildings and luxurious private houses with lavish decorations, furnishings and works of art.Organic remains, including wooden objects and human bodies, were interred in the ash.
Letter from Caesar;
You are my best governor, I send you to Pompeii to rebuild the great city. You will have a big economic challenge with an insignificant military presence. You get several good opportunities to start your work.
But remember you only have 25 years to rebuild this city from the ashes. When your time is up Pompeii remains buried forever.
Greetings Caesar
This is my first map and i want you enjoy this map, here is no stress,no nightmare millitary.I will give you the best traide routes and production you can have.Just make a beautiful city.Quite easy map but,be ready Caesar is greedy again.
Hints:
Earthquake with start not destroy ur buildings
Traid ships way in and out left side only of map
Iron mine disabled
Make money fast
Make barack and 1 fort fast for your safe
(no millitary map)
Do you want to make map harder?
You can have own goals; like oppen only 1-2 trade routes the whole game. You can also disable buldings as own goal.Try out which ones are best for you.Invasions pretty weak here, but at the end increases.
Many thanks for Bewaretheblobber playing my soft map on twitch, very educational like always from a super good C3 player.Amazing <3
I want to say thanks to those who have tested my map ; Omilron and Cloud8888 and many thanks to CommissarMarek because without Marek`s
help i would not have succesed.
Good luck! cheers; Mariasbanana |

Playability: 4
Played it with Augustus, and it was quite easy to play. Alot of free space and plentyfull resources to play with.
Balance: 3
Military wise it was very weak and the requests were not very challenging. The pop cap was quite low but in the newer version it was raised to a better amount
Creativity: 3
Nothing special here so far.
Map Design: 3
Liked the many places you could build reservoirs on the main land without using the main river. Alot of free building space.
Story/Instructions: 3
Was ok.
Additional Comments:
If you love a chill map, that is perfect for you. Played the early version of it, so the map could be different now.

Played on Augustus and enjoyed it a lot due to the open spaces
Balance: 2
Military and requests were very easy. I suggest to either remove the military or make it harder.
Creativity: 3
I liked it good job.
Map Design: 4
Maybe you can amend the rivers and farm land available so its more challenging to feed people
Story/Instructions: 5
They were fine
Additional Comments:
Very easy map to me and I had a great time playing it |

@ByChechi
Forgive me, I did not know that you have created the same city. I have worked for 1 month on this map, tested in Julius 10 times and in Augustus 3 times.Sorry again.
You say ;Neither the terrain , nor the story correspond to the truth ! Ancient Rome never intended to restore Pompey.
Happens 2000 years after. . . .
But Caesar3 is a game not a history lesson and sometimes you want to use your imagination to create something fun.

Sorry ! Nowhere have I written that your work is bad !
On the contrary - a good card to play , say a city in Asia Minor. My respects !
You have misunderstood what I wrote . As for the link , it wasn't an ad , nor do I need it (I earn "free electrons" :))) ).
My Pompei is not so much a card to play - quite easy . It is about revealing and demonstrating the possibilities of the game .
...................
And at the end something very serious !
Imagination is only valuable if it stands on real facts . Otherwise you get fictions , which let's say... is inappropriate.[Edited on 02/05/23 @ 01:03 PM]

Everything works, is beatable without issues.
Balance: 4
Well balanced events but money is way too plentifull, would even work as no taxes map. Military is ok.
Creativity: 5
Creative but very flat map, straight coastlines is not to my liking usually but the map is not a sandbox which is good.
Map Design: 5
Nice overall design, earthquake can scupper some parts of the map which is good, you dont need all of it.
Story/Instructions: 5
Well written regarding hints some english is a bit broken but its not very important.
Additional Comments:
I enjoyed myself, would play again. Not the most challenging map but it is fun. |

Fun to play but a very easy map in terms of super easy to generate money.
Balance: 3
Almost too easy to generate trade income. I think it was 80-100 units of pottery alone possible to sell, which means as soon as you got over the initial set up cost money was no longer an issue.
Creativity: 3
Fun map but not a lot of things I have not seem before.
Map Design: 4
Good looking map with lots of opportunity. Depending on how the earthquake strikes it can be more or less challenging.
Story/Instructions: 3
Not a lot of story, but enough of instructions to help out.
Additional Comments:
Enjoyed playing it for a relax game! Ended up with some 330k money though - so maybe make it harder next time? Or drop the price on for example pottery instead of increase it to make it less profitable? |

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you liked my first map. Have you read the entire instruction before leaving reviews? example; here is no stress, no nightmare military... quite easy map.You can also read; do you want to make map harder?... make your own goals. It hurts a little that you didn't read the whole text btw.If you want to try a hard map,I recommend my Fair Isle map with 25 years survival time and own goals.Cheers Mariasbanana [Edited on 03/09/23 @ 08:47 AM]
