Korea Seoul Map

Author File Description
File Details
Climate: Northern
Difficulty: Hard
Population goal: 20000
Culture goal: 90
Prosperity goal: 90
Peace goal: 90
Favor goal: 90
This is my first map making.

Attacks are coming from various directions in the northern provinces.

You will have to fight many battles with many invasions in the history of Korea.
Seoul is the capital of Korea and has a large river and fertile land.
So, if you ruled Seoul, you could achieve great prosperity in ancient Korea.

Hanyang in the map name is the old place name of Seoul.

The upper part of the river is called "Gangbuk", and the lower part of the river is called "Gangnam".

We recommend that you develop the following lectures first.

Please be careful of the wolf in Yeouido in the middle of the river.

Map Design4.0
Playability: 4 - after update with local clay and 3rd food type, the only thing is tedious 20k pop goal and constant attacks of even 6 full size per year. They run out fairly quick though and time limit is basically inconsequential.

Balance: 4 You can build whats needed very simply, economy is very lenient even without using 2 native meeting huts, trade is enough for insane profits, some events like fluctuating wages, up and down dont make much sense.

Creativity: 4
Map looks natural, still lots of open spaces for standartised designs and farmland + wharf spots are too plentifull.

Map Design: 4
Nothing to write home about but it works nothing is broken. You can tower defense the map easily if you figure out the invasion points.

Story/Instructions: 5
English is broken and story does not make any sense, still 5 since noone cares about story.

Additional Comments:
Overall its an sandboxy map with resouruces surplus to requirement with too high pop goal and overtuned military.

marekvazny I just noticed its the first map by the creator. I do not want to come off as hostile so let me clarify.
1. Its great you decided to make a map for this great game, the fact that there are some glaring issues is understandable and expected.
2. There is always an option to go back and improve the map or make a new one with the new knowledge in mind. Many of these shotfalls could have been amended by proper testing and completing it yourself.
3. Terrain wise you did good job at making everything work which is something that is not common, just the events and resources are a mess.

Dovrr I can agree with marekvazny on the playability.
(He says clay but I think he means olives)

The military does feel overtuned. Most attacks have the same difficulty as the largest attack on the Milan map. Would be ok if this happened once or twice, spread out, but I had to end up building rows of wall and towers which became tedious to rebuild every time.

Some of the requests are bad eg 50 wine when you can't produce wine

I didn't have a problem with prosperity as lux palaced blocks get you to 100. And I prefer if there was a low oil to make the map challenging

It is a nice looking map that looks natural. The native areas are also a good size and nicely layed out

Would be a good map if it wasn't for the tedious death diamonds
marekvazny Hey Dovrr, am i missing something with clay? I did not have it locally available and only route that sells it, sells 15. No pottery iimports either.

Dovrr @marekvazny, thats odd. I have clay available but not olives?

marekvazny @Dovrr, i just checked my VOD and previously the map had only timber locally available, no oilives or vines either. The creator must have updated it which makes sense.
