My seventh map
The eagle’s heart and wings
A northern map
Salve Governor!
As you know, our beloved patricians all over the empire are consuming lots and lots of furniture. They buy it, keep it for some weeks and soon are no longer satisfied with it. One of the famous designers thinks of a new type, the trend changes and the “old” furniture becomes waste.
I hate it, but what can I do? There are always some issues you can’t take control of, even if you are Caesar.
Luckily, the area I want you to settle this time, is very rich of wood. You will have to fell many trees establishing the city I have in mind, but you will not burn the timber as you are used to it, but send it to me. Don’t be surprised about the quantities, when you get my messages. As I told you, it is a real problem that we have with these patricians and even more with these rascals of designers.
Beware of the gauls… As the woods in the empire are already more or less used up, you will settle far away from our border. Expect many strong invasions and prepare for them wisely.
Goals:
Culture: 40
Prosperity: 90
Peace: 80
Favor: 80
Population: 7037
Time-limit: 30 years (disabled)
Moreover information:
Empire State 32 (Tingis II)
Salary: 5 DN (Engineer)
Earthquake: No
Gladiator-revolt: No
Change of Emperor: No
Sea trade problems: No
Land trade problems: No
Rome raises wages: Yes
Rome lowers wages: No
Contaminated water: No (new, dued to some reviews of my other scenarios)
Iron mine collapse: No(t relevant)
Clay pits flooded: No
Specialties:
The scenario is designed for the duration of 30 years. So there will be no attacks, requests etc. after this period. To keep the map interesting for Augustus-players, the time-limit is disabled. Julius-players should stick to the limit / keep it in mind.
Blocked buildings: none (except the mission post, which is irrelevant)
Prices will change.
As Caesar will have some requests, there will be opportunities to raise favor (10 units +5, timber with always raising quantities +?)
For the Augustus-players:
Timber and clay are locally available, marble is not (15 import / year).
Please do not pay attention to the location in the empire, not fitting to the northern terrain and enemies. It was chosen because of the trade and producing possibilities, which were supposed to fit to my thoughts.
The map was of course several times tested (Vanilla) and beaten.
Feedback (positive, negative) is as usually very welcome. |

Another great map from CIP_86. The map is straight forward, I felt relax while playing it. Ceasar's requests look like a lot but easy to satisfy. I struggled in the end to feed 7000 population and 6 forts on Agustus. Overall nice map. Always looking forward for other map from you. thanks. :) |

@CeasarPizza
Thanks for the new very positive review and the kind words.
You played relaxed? I thought of you and your last reviews and I tried to set up military more intense again. ;)
The additional food that Augustus-mode requires, makes it more difficult here, yes.
But you did not have any problems with any of my maps in Augustus-mode so far, always important to hear. You are kind of Augustus-tester for me. :)
You are very welcome.[Edited on 06/08/22 @ 01:13 PM]

with the help of palisade and 3-4 javelins I can push back most of the invasion xD.
I think this map would be very challenging if the forest region is open for invasions.

"I think this map would be very challenging if the forest region is open for invasions."
That was my plan in the beginning. :) But as the map is not that huge, it would have burned needed space, so I closed the gap in the woods.
When six, now seven scenarios are finished, it is not that easy to stay creative and to possibly add new things. I will see what about a next one.
Creating 10 scenarios is my goal.
I think I will set up another "big wave" near the beginning in the next one, which will be more difficult to survive than in "The valley of St. Andrea rivers".[Edited on 06/09/22 @ 10:18 AM]

Infantry and towers were needed to repel the invasions from the east.
The other invasion points remained blocked.
I like the creative story :) |

Thank you trolgu.
The small story came to my mind and I thought it might be funny. ;) |

Additional Comments:
Never have I ever seen such massive quantity requests. But the story/description does warn you, so it makes it flavourful and interesting, and because it ramps up at a reasonable rate - as opposed to obnoxious rate - it was fun.
I don't know if you are planning any other maps, but I don't think I've seen you use a "soldier" request (or the plain money request either), so perhaps a area to explore/enjoy building a map to use.
