Salutation citizen,

recently, a traveling merchant reported us about a picturesque province of unprecedented size in far-off Britain. A completely peaceful, untouched idyll, free from any kind of warfare and rebellious natives as he assured me. It would be a peace of cake to conjure a huge showcase project of Roman architecture out of the ground. An opportunity too good to pass up.

When I wanted to present the project to Ceasar, he surprised me with a rare good mood and spontaneously invited me to a small wine tasting. That would maybe explain these confusing requirements. Can't remember, but whatever. Anyway, for such a ridiculously easy assignment, I'd hate to deprive a capable governor of more important tasks, so it is now up to you to prove yourself in the glorious service of Rome...

Your mission, if you accept it, build a thriving little city in the northern provinces with

00 Culture
99 Prosperity
12 Peace
96 Favor
4455 People

So no reason why Caesar would be impressed easily. Even my wife's nephew could handle this, but he has to go to school tomorrow.

Hm, I just noticed, that the attached map is called "Rocky swamp". Not really suitable for excellent building land if you ask me, but that's probably a joke I`m still too tipsy to understand. As you know, the Roman bureaucracy is acknowledged to be superior in the world and we never make mistakes. So of course I assume that everything is correct. And now don't bother me, I have to rest a little ...

Thanks for the surprisingly quick comment! :D Do you think I should change this point in the game, or did you finally win? Really didn't look bad until then...
This move was planned as a small dampener, but of course not to make the player give up.
SevenSoul It's not a deal breaker, I keep multiple saves so it didn't take long to win the game in the end. The prosperity req is pretty tight, I was at 96, and before the turn of the year I destroyed the 1 tent I had to make sure the cap was high enough

You have all the money you want and easy military, but you still need good city planning to meet the high requirements in such tight space

Phew, after your first comment I wasn't sure if this move wasn't a bit toooo much. The military was intentionally used less often and should just distract players occasionally from the actual gameplay. But I think you had way too much money at that point. :D I played it with Augustus several times and made the game a little harder bit by bit. Not sure I would have made it easily through the final version (but I'm quite a noob). Building levies or Sentiment would kill me I think.

Anyway, thank you for your great review, I hope you still had fun.

P.S.: Could you please remove your savegame? Other players should be allowed to get angry too... ;D
SevenSoul Yeah with Augustus it should be considerably harder. Maybe you should've uploaded the map to the Augustus scenarios page if you balanced for it (though it was still a fun map for Julius) or at least add a note saying the map is "Medium" difficulty in vanilla (or Hard in vanilla and Very Hard in Augustus)

The main cause of my problems can of course also result from my inability. :D Maybe a more experienced Augustus player can enlighten us...

By the way, true experts are hereby encouraged to try playing up to a population of 5000 to make things a little more challenging, for bonus points and a pat on the back. :D

Since pretty much all Julius maps can also be played with Augustus, but not the other way around, I just wanted to offer more people the opportunity to enjoy this map...
