My fourth map
Conquering the rocky pyramid
A northern map
Far away from the borders of the empire, in the middle of the land of the celts, tons of centuries ago nature created a fascinating and unique pyramidal mountain. Or was it Mars himself? As there is fertile land available, Caesar now wants to take control of this area. The mountain perfectly symbolizes Caesars position on the top, he tells everyone, so there is no way he will come to his senses and give up on it.
Maybe the crushed troops that we can expect, when the celts realize what is going on, will change that…
Goals:
Culture: 40
Prosperity: 90
Peace: 80
Favor: 80
Population: 9037
Time-limit: 30 years (disabled)
Moreover information:
Empire State 1 (Lugdunum)
Salary: 5 DN (Engineer)
Earthquake: No
Gladiator-revolt: No
Change of Emperor: No
Sea trade problems: No(t relevant)
Land trade problems: Yes
Rome raises wages: Yes
Rome lowers wages: No
Contaminated water: Yes
Iron mine collapse: No
Clay pits flooded: No(t relevant)
Specialties:
The scenario is designed for the duration of 30 years. So there will be no attacks, requests etc. after this period.
Blocked buildings:
Small temples
Bridges (there is no bridging place available anyway)
Small temples are blocked, oracles are not. So it is just in the beginning an additional challenge.
Prices will change.
Military will be pretty intense, so some towers are necessary. Space and food is more than enough available, but the areas are separated by the pyramid in the middle, so getting-warehouses will be important.
As Caesar will have some requests, there will be opportunities to raise favor (10 units +5, 20 units +6, 30 units +7)
For the Augustus-players:
Timber and marble are locally available, clay is not and very limited (15 import / year). Some pottery can be imported (25 / year).
The map was of course several times tested (Vanilla) and beaten.
It was already finished so far 10 weeks ago, but was not finally tested. I did so now. I mention it just in case somebody wonders why it is my fourth map, but my sixth upload.
A preview to the map is available here:

Salve CeasarPizza!
You are welcome.
Military is intense I think, but not extreme.
Did you yet play my first map "Guarding the Mountain Pass"? In this scenario, military is pretty extreme I think. ;)
Thank you for your review. |

Only major complaint would be the contaminated water events. And the free-wolves.

Additional Comments:
I'd prefer the free roaming wolf packs to be fenced in at the start (using trees on the top of the stairs to the raised areas). So that you don't need to build buildings to box them in until you can make a military to go deal with them. Otherwise excellent.[Edited on 05/31/22 @ 04:05 AM]

@TheBlobber
Thank you very much for the review!
I will think about waiving these CW events in the future. It actually only makes sense in scenarios that go on for more than 30 years, when the population can get old with many doctors.
Concerning the wolves: In the usual starting area there is just one pack around, when I play and the wolves enter my first little town, I have an amphitheater and some gladiators on the roads to deal with them. Some walkers / cart pushers will probably nevertheless be killed. It is also kind of random, if the wolves become a problem or not, so one needs some luck. :) When the wolves stay at the entrance killing everyone immediately, like we know it very well from "Lutetia", it can be very annoying, that is of course true.
Nice to hear you had some fun with that map! |

Once again a very nice map, but with very good export opportunities and moderate invasions certainly not a difficult task :) |

Hello once again @trolgu!
Thanks for the new very positive review.
You are right, medium difficulty would perhaps fit better to this scenario.
I did not assume you having any problems with any of my maps. You seem to be kind of a maniac in this game. ;)
I balance the maps the way, that they are difficult for myself (some maps more, some less after having played / tested them X times). But, I must always beat it, was my credo so far.
As I have not managed maps like "graeconomics", "Colonia Narbo Martius" or "finis civiles prope est" so far (on very hard level), it seems I am still limited in my "skills".
But I managed Grimsby (in some tries). :)[Edited on 06/07/22 @ 08:55 AM]
