The year is 42BC. The Gaulish tribes have been defeated and the Roman Republic now rules the area up to the northernmost coast of Gaul.
But in the rest of the empire there is a bloody civil war for power over the senate.
Meanwhile, you, a former soldier of Gaius Julius Caesar's legions, find an abandoned Gaulish sacred grove in the middle of the deepest forest. Nearby is a fertile riverbank and you decide to settle there with some former comrades and their families.
But be warned. The civil war will also reach you, even though you are protected behind the Alps and far away from Rome, from the attacks of the enemy legions, you are still loyal to your former master and he will ask you to send some tributes to support him and his campaign.
