The year is 172 Bc. and Roman republic has been dragged into its third war with greek state of Macedon. The war effort goes well and senate has requested that you, one of republics most succesful governors takes control of several islands in Aegean sea, deep in the enemy territory, where your task will be to threaten Macedonian supply lines and draw their attention, while the main army deal the decisive blow to end this threat now and forever. Time is of the essence so set up your exports as soon as you are able and invest into heavy defences, as the enemy is supposedly defending these island ferociously. The oil prices are expected to be trending up, along with olives as the republics many other colonies do not have the luxury of domestically produce these goods. The local natives who despise all things roman in nature will also surely be a hinderance to your efforts. Once you manage to pacify the locals and stabilise the economy you should look for a spacious island to establish villas, for many patricians in Rome wish for a new places to call home in this exotic climate, for at least parts of the year.


-IMPORTANT read .txt file attached for trade prices and quotas as there is a bug preventing you from seeing it on the empire map. There is a possibility that in Augustus it will be fully visible.
-ONLY build clay pits on low ground areas.
-map is a save file intended to be played as such.


-oil is the most valuable export. Pottery is a supplement but not replacement as the prices can be fickle.
-be prepared for extensive military action, invest into an army early and consider using trained legionaires.
-bridges costs can count into tens of thousants of denarii. This along with short time limit means that you should evaluate each island carefully and maximize income where possible. Some island have specs of fertile land barely visible so watch out.
-many people can be fed on fish diet but fruits and vegetables makes for a good bulk export.
-Athenae route is bugged but its mostly of little consequence. I will use standard programs in the future so no more of this trade mess. Apologies for the inconvenience.

04.09.2021 added one more island and made shorter connection in the south. Added the missing time limit. Added small price rework +- 5 dn. Some small spaces added to various islands. Pop goal reduced to 7k.

Salve BigBear84,
i knew you would be excited about this one. It is a hybrid of the ideas from our discussion on forum. I hope it proves entertaining and i'm looking forward for completed city and feedback.

Very challenging map, very well though out.

Tough but fair

It's a very unique layout, with quirks and event spread out. A must try custom map for caesar 3 fan.

Map Design: 5
Would give 6 star if i can for map design.

Story/Instructions: 5
Not much of a story person but it's good to have.

Additional Comments:
What a map, was a real blast the whole way. It's very challenging and need careful layout and planning to win. Each island is different and each need to be utilized efficiently otherwise it will be hard to win. Trade with anthenae is bug, and the trade is as shown ingame not same as notepad like the other trade route. But that shouldn't deter you from trying this challenging map, it's unique and the bug makes it abit more challenging and interesting imo. Military is strong, hit hard, early and constant but they are mostly Greece and some native, so it's not unfair. Thank you again Marekvazny, really enjoy playing this map last couple of days. If i can give this map 6 star i would.

PS. Sorry i miss out on the Clay Pit rules, didn't see that part when i downloaded this map otherwise i wouldve follow it.

Thanks for the review BigBear84. It is good to know it was a cool concept with all the islands and that you liked the map. Pretty great summary of the event and such but still would love to see a completed city. Ill be making another map in the near future. If you happen to have any suggestion feel free to let me know. Clay pit rule is just a small inconvenience don't worry about it, as it would not change the challange that much.

BigBear84 Hi Marek, ive post it in completed city already, with more saves this time. Just waiting for approval. In keeping with the spirit, Julius mod was used, no multiple barrack and didnt use lion walker for defence. Really enjoy this challenge, when you make another map ill make sure to jump on it right away again.

The most devastating event was those dam rats lol
