My laptop specs :
Model : Compaq Presario V3700
Processor : Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 1.86 GHz
RAM : 2 GB (Upgraded)
OS : Win 7 Pro 64-bit (Upgraded)
DirectX : 11
Before i upgrade the windows from XP to 7 i can play it normally without any problem. But since i upgrade it, there are problem where i play it and open the advisor panel the game suddenly stop working. I've try search it on internet, it said the game doesn't support directx 11 and need to install directx 9. I've try it, and it works for the first time. Then, i need to install the directx every time i want to play it. And now it doesn't affect anything. Every time i play it, when i open the advisor panel, the problem come make me feel frustrated. Any idea how to fix it? I wonder if i should downgrade the directx version, but i don't know how.

I don't know what version is it, because i find it on internet. I've installed directx 9 from another web before microsoft launch it on 20/02/2021. And the problem is still happen. Then i tried to download from the microsoft, and when i installed it, it said "Directx setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of directx has been installed already. No installation is necessary". That's not fix my problem. Should i try to download the GOG version? or should i uninstall and reinstall the directx? Oh yeahh compability mode doesn't affect :') btw sorry if my english is bad. I'm not a native speaker :v

Sorry, I'm not technical. I'd just buy the GOG version, it's not very expensive.
Your English is fine.

That MS link no longer has the correct version.
Hopefully you got it sorted out by now. I did have a tutorial on youtube on how to fix problems with the steam version. Just search there for "Caesar IV getting Steam version to Run"
