Me again with a new topic…
I've been trying to translate the standalone editor (i.e. not shipped with Julius) to Polish – as far as I know there's never been one. Sadly this also means the encoding seems to remain unsupported on the application level.
(Been dabbling with ENG Converter for the main c3.eng file, all is fine with the correct setting but it's not enough for the editor.)
How can I have it fixed? I've read about hex editors but could I read more about this?
--- EDIT ---
A funny thing is my c3.eng has some editor entries too, and c3_map.eng is just a copy of c3.eng with some extra (or removed) lines. I could expect a similar thing for the English original. It means less to translate but also a lot of redundancy. Should I just ignore most of these strings? Which ones are necessary for the editor?
---
Just for fun -- some commentary to the main game Polish translation -- for the Julius team or something. I merely skimmed it over and not saying it's complete!

EDIT: I need to keepKonstruktor Miast anyway because it's called that way in the instruction. Bummer.
2. There are some double spaces both here and in MM, but I'll skip that.
3. The transliteration of proper names is all over the place. For example,x/ks – there's Alexos and Alexandros but also Aleksandria. A part of me wants to translit it all, but on the other hand, I feel like Latin would be better if it were spelled the Latin way, with exception of the cities. I am open to suggestions.
4. This is minor, but some barbarian names are replaced with new ones. I believe this is not a mistake – most of these seem untranslatable due to either construction or cultural nods, but not all of them. I do feel, though, this is a place to show a little more creativity (or favourite comic books).
5. The missionary lines have swapped places in regards to the sound files and the structure. (This is also a problem within the original.) More so, there have been issues, which is sad because they're voiced:
with a way different voice tone aswell. :-)

My teaching Rome's benefits seems to be sinking in to these barbarians! As one can figure the localisation suggests the teaching seems to be ignored, so quite the opposite to the original. I'd suggest:
Wygląda na to, ż e moje nauki o korzyś ciach zwią zanych z Rzymem zaczynają docierać do tych barbarzyń ców!
with a way different voice tone aswell. :-)

I'm so glad to be Roman. You should see what these barbarians get up to in their hutsversus:
Jestem dumny z bycia Rzymianinem. Powinieneśdoes not feel wrong, just different a bit. The localisation suggests items rather than the habits, but I suspect they're just as shocking to the Roman guy.zobaczyć co ci barbarzyń cy mają w chatach.
