Hi!

I have installed the Emperor patch, and I have started playing the Han campaing. I didn't go much deeper into it, but so far there are two things I noticed were not corrected.

AGRICULTURE PANEL

If you load any city before starting a new scenario, the Agriculture Panel will tell you that the food imports can sustain, for example, 7546 people, i.e., the amount of food your were importing in the last scenario.

HOUSING

If you save your game with unoccupied houses, exit that game and reload it again, the unoccupied houses will turn into Huts or some other kind of housing I can't remember at the present.

-

Those were the only bugs I noticed so far. If you notice more, head over here to post more.

Thanx Shaun,
Also, another q:

Quote:

There are 2 reversed spy messages ....

AFAIK, that used to random pre-patch. Is that random post-patch too?

Folks, I decided to make this old thread a 'sticky'.

ISP for Steel cannot be changed.

Shaun first reported (and I confirmed), that it is impossible to change the Imperial Standard Price of Steel in the Campaign Creator. Note: this was probably a bug prior to the patch.

All other commodities can have their ISP changed in the editor, it is only steel that has this problem.

Sun Wu Kong: Stoneworks blessing

The problem is that the blessing is removing 400 units(half of the big block) from the stonework inventory to create the 4 blocks of stone for delivery to the storage facility. Whenever the stoneworks inventory is less then 400 units then an unrecoverable ERROR is caused.

CRASH-exiting emperor : CRASH-exiting emperor ...etc
Gads, what a headache. I lost an hour of playtime figuring this out.

Solution/workaround:
If using Kong's blessing then insure the stoneworks has 400 or more units.

Hello Folks:
I am a huge fun. Here's a brief history in re. my problem. Original loaded Emperor on my Windoxs 98SE. Even managed to update it. Work fine, no problems. I managed to get a fast computer to Windows XP Professional. In installed Emperor and proceeded to up (I have version 1.0). After installing update, the game will not start. No matter how I try to start it.
I prefer the updated version to the original.
Any help, assistance or parting with your expertise, will make me a one happy girl in Dallas.
Thank you for your courtesy and attention.
Samantha

Hi,

I haven't seen my particular problem listed.

After finishing Badaling, I get the usual victory dialog. Clicking Proceed brings me to the information and goal dialog for the final Qin mission, The Terracotta Army. However, when I click the "To the city" button, I am returned to the campaign menu for my emperor. Any idea how to deal with this? I am running version 1.0.1.0 on a Dell Dimension 8400.

Thanks,
Nick

nt23336, I can think of a couple of potential problems. Have you done any file cleanups/deletions/moves to any of the emperor directories? That last mission is looking for a previously saved file (from mission 2), and if it is missing or corrupted it could be causing this problem.

One thing you can try is go back to a previous save of mission 2 in this Qin campaign. Pick a save close to when you finished mission 2. Then replay mission 2 until you get a successful victory screen. Now go back to the Badaling mission and play it again (or load a save of it just before you finished). Maybe this time it will find the correct file to start the last mission.

Thanks, you nailed it in one. I'll bet the reason I needed to go back was that "The Terracotta Army" is built on a city used earlier in this campaign, Xianyang. I had moved the contents of the Save directory around to shorten the list in the "Load from" dialog.

Onward!

Left clicking a hero while in a market square and other weird hero behaviors
This can cause an abrupt program termination. The possibility of this happening is dependent on the mission/campaign having errors in it that can also trigger other weird behaviors from heroes including spawning an extra religious walker type that the hero acts as. The mission/campaign is usually playable but caution should be exercised while playing it by saving often.

Workaround:
Don't do it after you know it can happen in that mission. Wait until the hero completely clears the market.

Just reloaded my save to find all buildings (starting with my clay pits in the south) have both been cut off from the labour pool AND blocking the "road to china". It's like my roads aren't working any more, and restarting Emperor seems to have no effect... It's the final Qin mission where I am quite close to finishing both monuments. If anyone is interested, I'll post the two saves that matter.

You may be suffering the long-known bug related to rebuilding a city gate that was destroyed. See this thread for an in-depth discussion of it.

Basically, all you have to do is pause the game as soon as you reload the save, then use the shovel tool to remove any city gate that had been previously destroyed. Then rebuild it in the same spot. The 'road to china' will no longer be blocked. It's a tedious an rather unsatisfactory workaround, but it works.

The gates have never been destroyed, but yeah that was the one. Thing is, a gate that had been destroyed and not rebuilt was also contributing... Thanks for your help, I look forward to trying the new campaign out btw

Trade suspension with 'Rebelling' Vassal Cities

When a vassal city first rebels, any trade you have open with them will be suspended. However, if you save the game after that point and then reload it, trade will be restored with that vassal city (even though they are still rebelling).

Edited: The next series of posts have been removed due to the discovery (after much effort) that the discussion involved a pirated copy of the game, which is a violation of the HG CoC.

Discussion relevant to the Emperor Patch begins again after these removed posts.
