The title says it all, whatever I do, open trade route as a first step, with no buildings yet, the map shows no place to fit the port...

Welcome Pjevac

I tried it, and was able to place a trading port in the middle of the sandy section of shoreline. I had to rotate the building until the two red dots indicating the piers were over the water. Could that be the problem?
