Thank you for this list mouse, very helpful .

For the people who're experiencing problems with the game: if your card is on the list of cards that support T&L, but the game still doesn't run, please visit the Technical Forum for the best help .

Thanks, I had to look a bit harder than you said as I have window XP. But it said Trident - Blade 3D/Pro media. So from your list it doesn't look like I will be able to play COtN.

I'd never recommend someone buying something that their computer won't support, but sometimes you can get lucky. My CotN froze, locked up, chopped, you name it, on my 2.8 P/4 with 512mb and a 256 Radeon, after a clean install of XP. My wife's runs like a champ, and she has a 700 mhz with 128 of RAM and a 32mb Radeon running on 2000K. Not to mention 50 background running programs, spy programs, and a few dozen viruses she tends to pick up. I don't even see how it loads. The game scrolls a little slow, but it works fine and has not crashed yet (been playing two weeks for a few hours a day).

I might want to add a little help info in here after contacting support and being given the generic frustrating answer: "Download the latest video drivers", which of course I was already using.

To fix my issue, I changed my video card settings to "Best Performance" (the lowest), and then cranked up the game to the best of everything. Works and looks great as well. Haven't had a problem since.

Even leaving my video settings that low hasn't had a negative effect on anything else, not that MY eyes can see at least. My AOM still looks great, which is my #1 priority. Well, make that #2 now that CotN is out......

Some systems just can't be kept down and some well maintained systems just can't keep up Once we figure it out we'll be able to make a mint. As for Ati drivers we did work with them during the beta tests seems the July 2004 to Sept 2004 drivers work best. Do know for sure that the July 2004 drivers worked with my Ati card.

There are so many varibles that impact how the game performs on any given system. Trial and error seems to be the way to work it out. There are a few things that we do know for sure you have a better chance with a system that is defragged and has plenty of free space on the drive where the game is installed

As mouse said, it's not always the latest drivers that work best. If you have an Nvidia card, the July 04 drivers are good, the later ones aren't.

I have nVIDIA Geforce FX, and the gameply still bleeds like none other...

It's quite awful and completely unplayable. It used to work, but then out of nowhere it started to screw up. Really, really, really, strange.

Update the drivers of the card. Chances our your GPU is just generally outdated.

Hi Daelon, welcome to CotN Heaven (at least I don't remember seeing you here before..)

If, as Dean mentioned (2 years ago), the problems just started out of the blue, as post #8 suggest a driver downgrade may be more in order than a driver upgrade, not that we have much information to go by.

Since Dean has made some more posts since, I guess he got his problems solved, otherwise the latest updated version of CotN, as available from TM, might solve such problems, if any other player is having troubles in newer operating systems or newer version of the graphical drivers.

Dean, I would suggest getting an ATI Radeon card. The GeForce FX series are rubbish at laying games, as I found out myself while using one of them.

The post is two years old Speysider. Dean probably has a completely new PC by now, maybe he will tell us next time he is around
