Been playing this game for two decades now, but only just now getting around to messing with the editor.
I am in the process of beta testing my current map. I have a couple of City Requests Goods events that trigger a Demand Increase. In both cases, the Demand Increase is for a good the requesting cities sell. Furthermore, the initial demand is set to zero (the blank option on the button).
The idea here is that the city will request goods and, if you comply (even if you're late), the city will then increase the amount of either Barley or Flax (depending on which city it is) from zero units sold annually to 1500 units sold annually.
In testing the events, both requests went off at the correct time. Sawu requested Debens, Pwenet requested Granite.
I complied with the request for Granite before the deadline. This should trigger a Demand Increase for Flax, raising the amount of Flax Pwenet is willing to sell each year from zero to 1500.
I was late in fulfilling the reqest for Debens, but this too should trigger a Demand Increase, this time for Barley. Sawu should raise the amount of Barley it is willing to sell each year from zero to 1500 units.
In both cases, I did indeed get the Demand Increase. Clicking on Pwenet on the map shows that it sells Flax now where it didn't show Flax in the "Sells:" list before. Same with Sawu and Barley.
So far, so good.
However, I didn't get any *message* telling me that they were now selling more Flax/Barley than they did before. If I hadn't known it was supposed to happen, I might not have ever noticed.
Only thing I can think of is that I wasn't trading partners with either Sawu or Pwenet. Do you have to be already trading with a city to get a message about them increasing the amount of stuff they're willing to sell?
