Has anyone ever wondered what goes on INSIDE the courthouse buildings we build in our cities? In particular, I notice a curved ramp leading up from the street to the courthouse door, with ordinary stairs on both sides. What's that all about?
Not having any direct knowledge of what the game designers intended, I decide to fall back on the most basic of techniques, and that was to just make something up. This is what I came up with:
Inside the courthouse the defendent stands on the courtroom floor, facing towards the main exit (although one level above the main doors). If the stupid judge decides he's guilty, he rings a gong and a trap door opens up underneath the defendant and down he goes.
The "ramp" is actually a slide much as you would find in a children's playground. It is very slippery, and there's no place to grab on to to stop your skid. Down you go, and when you get to the bottom of the visible portion, it continues on down to the punishment room. While casual visits to the punishment room are not encouraged, everyone fears it as being a very unpleasant place to go.
Usually, the defendant starts screaming, as he knows where he's going and that he has no way to stop it. This just adds to the idea of the punishment room being a scary place.
Perhaps we can get them to include these graphics in the new Pharaoh game.
