Topic Subject: Removing trees on a map

Surprisingly, I searched all over this forum and could not find a topic about removing trees from a map.

The shovel icon provides us with a tool to clear away trees from a map, but it should be used with caution. It costs money from our city treasury for EACH TILE that is cleared. My testing showed that:

Difficulty Very Easy = cost of $1 per tile cleared
Difficulty Easy = cost of $1 per tile cleared
Difficulty Normal = cost of $2 per tile cleared
Difficulty Hard = cost of $2 per tile cleared
Difficulty Very hard = cost of $3 per tile cleared.

Also, it is important to note that clearing trees will change the Feng Shui aspect of the tile. So if you are striving for perfect Feng Shui, be very careful before removing trees.

Here is a screenshot that shows where to find the shovel icon.

I think the Feng Shui aspect is the most important one. OK, if you try to clean up the whole map at once, this might get expensive, but cutting a few trees is usually less than a building.
But Feng Shui can really drive me crazy at times, and I always spend quite some time on considering if I should really cut this one tree...

Removing trees, or not, isn't the only thing that effects the Feng Shui.

Placing coloured walls and rotating the map can alter the Feng Shui of an area where you wish to place housing.

Personally, and with the dotted rocks very much dictating housing layouts, especially when you ned two, one at either end of a market, the Feng Shui is what it is, anything but perfect. 100% green.

lisa1212, I know rotating the map affects the Feng Shui aspect, but can you provide an example of how placing "colored walls" (which I assume you mean residential walls) can affect it?
