The year is 500bc, Caesar has just conquered land in southern Israel/northern Egypt on the bank of the Suez Canal (of course this hasn't really been built until the 20th century), where 1000 years previously the Egyptians made a passage between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. There is still a small settlement there where people once lived whilst working on the canal, but these shouldn't cause much trouble if you use your crafty powers of persuasion............., but the Egyptians, annoyed that you have conquered their great wonder are out for revenge. Expect invasions from the Egyptians and local raiders who think they're hard from about 455bc, they shouldn't do much damage if you have built up your defenses. Caesar does not think it necessary to supply you with wheat from Rome, as the bank of the Canal is perfectly straight and abundant in fish, there is a little farmland for olive growing, and for your patricians, vines. To win this scenario Caesar expects you to achieve reasonable ratings of Culture, Prosperity, Favour and Peace, though these may prove difficult it is possible. From time to time Caesar may ask for quantities of weapons and olives but these will cause no bother. This is a medium level scenario that throws a bit of everything at its governor, have fun!
