I have described this on the Forum previously. Map is at Jan 158 and prosperity is 61 and culture rating is at 79. All ratings,except for the peace rating, were sufficient for victory in Jan.159. Prosperity was achieved by having a high percentage of the population living in Grand Insulae. The Colosseum was used as the third entertainment type. It seemed to me with all of that farmland that I could easily afford to use some for non-trivial housing areas. They are obviously in a position to get food quickly to their markets. It was not my intention to get them to Grand Insulae and I was suprised that it was so easy considering the lack of room and not trusting the Gladiators to walk to the Colosseum. The one medium statue that I substituted for housing was not a designed feature, I was going to distribute furniture and had too much population. I deleted a Small Insulae not knowing that it would have become a Grand Insulae. I so far outpassed the prosperity rating that I could have passed up upgrading the plataeu housing past Small Insulae. A couple of years down the line, the 25 timber import limit would have caused some instability with so many Grand Insulaes. I learned that I need to not build so many clinics. No end of the year tricks, no culture centers, no tents were used. I had a separate trade center and stubbornly built much more housing than the game system would require and eventually upgraded them to Large Casa, just to show that it was possible. I realize that is no way to play the game to the maximum, but since I passed the needed rating requirements ahead of schedule, I won as quickly as the peace rating allowed. Also, I certainly did not need to give them a clinic. That was a mistake and I could have used the extra 5 labor early in the game. A few industrial buildings have been deleted. The export warehouses are stuffed and they would not need all of that production for a very long time. Money was not a consideration after I got both trades routes going and labor was not a problem. In the last year, I added whatever culture buildings they were advising me to build up to whatever labor was available. I was just padding the culture score; I had been surpassing the culture requirements for several years.
