Damascus is not especially good for building or farming, and invasions come close to where I had to build, thus I have low peace. The rating which I used to avoid a win was favor though. My initial goal was 12000 people, but I had no special plan for the city and I stretched it while playing. Mainly thanks to culture buildings used to boost culture spread through the city, which allowed building good houses with little effort.
Rules I observed:
- hard difficulty
- no debt, personal savings or rescue loan
- taxes never above 7%
- all roads inside the city connected (road to rome is not connected by road)
- no gatehouses
- culture 100
- everyone is fed
- best buildings (colosseum, hippodrome, senate, governor residences, palaces) close to each other
Oh, man this is really insane! There is still some piece of land unused?! Great job indeed! I wonder is it maximum what can be done with the possibilities map provides or it can be made a little better?
