Well, I suck with searches for infomation on forums. I tried looking around, but I just don't have the patience to sift around.
What I'm curious about, does anyone have a sort of "ideal" housing set up for Plebs/Equites housing to share the most amount of buildings they can. Such as 1 Odeum covering all homes, 1 theatre, 1 clinic, etc? I've toyed around and I have a decent system, but I would like to improve it. It would also be great if I could figure out a way to get some patrician homes mixed in and be able to get them to as high level as is possible for a given scenario without having to have a compeltely separate area for them.

The sort of layout you use will depend greatly upon the requirements of the scenario, things like population, prosperity and culture requirements, income potential from trade, requests, and need for military, all are factors.
If you need lots of high level patrician houses, you will also need a large coverage area of culture buildings. But if you are mainly having plebs (for an industrial-based city) and not too big a population, you might get away with just a single odeum.
A single odeum won't cover many houses at all. You can only have a very small block covered by just one odeum. If you have higher culture buildings, the greater coverage of these will be wasted if you try to have just one odeum, one clinic, one barber, etc. Theaters don't give a huge coverage either.
Thus there is really no single right way of doing it. The most efficient way with small-coverage buildings is to have them centrally located, then you can put larger coverage buildings around the outsides. While this holds true for a small population with few patricians, a large population with lots of villas might call for temples, library, etc, to be centrally located as well.

Actually one single Theatre will cover quite a bit.
See my:
Empire Tier 4, Caesarea
thread to view my screenshot.
Just one Theatre covered all my city perfectly, but it was the central focus of the building and like I posted in that thread, it wasn't intentional or planned, but it worked out just fine.
However I give you credit, for a city larger than what I built, you would need more than one Theatre for max coverage ^-^;
