The October competition is being widened to include all the citybuilding games in the hopes of attracting more entries. The best entries will be added to our gallery.

So, what's the competition? It's for a screenshot, taken in normal gameplay, for the heading 'Worst Disaster'. Earthquake, fire, flood ... any shot that you think comes under that description can be entered. I realise that not all the games have the same disasters, but each has something that can come under that heading.

Contest Rules:

1. Your screenshot must be an image generated only by the core game (which does include the 'cheats').

2. Your screenshot must be saved in jpg, jpeg, or gif format.

3. Your screenshot must not be retouched using image-editing software.

4. Your screenshot must not contain content in violation of HeavenGames rules and guidelines.

5. Screenshots must be received by 31st October.

Screenshot Submissions:

1. You may enter a maximum of one screenshot for each of the CB games.

2. Submit your screenshot by attaching it to an email sent to gillb@heavengames.com

A reminder that you have 2 more days to get your entries to me. So far we've had one entry - I'm sure more than one person has had a disaster that's worth a screenshot ...

Hi GillB!
What happened to the competition? Who won, even if that was by default? Or because th lack of contestants is the copetition still open?

There was a lack of contestants indeed, but no, the contest is not still open. This thread just didn't get un-stickied

I showed up too late to participate, but I'd like to see the entry you received.

I'm the guy trying to catch the deluge in a paper cup.

The theme for the contest was Heroes in Action, and you can see the entry here.

Well shaun,
if its any consolidation, I think it has a strong impact and actually makes a statement:

A lone(ly) hero on a lone(ly) (Web)page...

btw, nice pic!

/edit or you could just say "Its just lonely @ the top"

Actually Gweilo, Gill's contest was 'worst disaster'. I think the only entry might have been mine. But my memory is not what it used to be.

Ah, I was thinking of the contest before Gill's, in which shaun's screenshot was the only submission. As far as I know, we only had two contests.

This contest idea is still a good one, but it needs to be done on a more active game. For example, a monthly screenshot competition for Caesar IV would probably generate more interest.

Yep, C4 has the screenshot option already so no hassle with screen print and pasting.

C Franziskus;
Thanks

Comforts kach because they lost her picture.
