All is not well in Cee-nineville. mafia has infiltrated your village! Its up to you to root out the scum via lynching.

The setup is one of the following (decided with random.org)

5 townies, 2 mafia. (25%)
4 townies 2 mafia 1 cop (25%)
4 townies 2 mafia 1 doc (25%)
3 townies 2 mafia 1 cop 1 doc (25%)

The townie role email looks like this:

Quote:

You are a townie. At day you may talk in thread and vote for someone.
You win if all scum have been eliminated. Any questions, email me!

The cop email looks like this:

Quote:

You are the cop. At nightyou may email me the name of a player, and you find out if they are scum or not.
You may not target yourself.
Any questions, email me!

the doc email looks like this:

Quote:

You are the doc. At night you may email me a name that player wont die. You may not target yourself.
Any questions, email me!

Confirm in thread!

Let me finish that thought, my boss came in and wrecked my chain of thought.stupid work

And no responsible townie would recklessly put down a third vote either.

Centurion_Z is looking scummy to me. I don't know why, maybe it's just the syntax of his sentences, or some other wierd linguistic thing. It just all sounds hollow.

How can I convince you that once again, we are going on a townie hunt? The mafia in this game are most vulnerable on the first day when the greatest number of townies are around. I can't see them being very active on the first day. They're going to wait until you lynch me, kill a second townie and then become more active and start trying to sway for a second townie lynch.

You aren't going to much information if you cast your votes on me now.

What I'm worried about is that today will end in a stalemate, as no one is unwilling to cast the a third vote on someone. And for good reason - we have nothing to go on in a situation where a solid lynch is all but required.

The reasons for not wanted to do the third vote are obvious: tomorrow, everyone will want to lynch that person if we fail to hit scum. Further, no one wants to be the reason we lose the game, and so I don't see someone taking the risk without sufficient reason that we just don't have.

Well this is freaking boring. Think risk vs reward people. No lynch with no disscussion means a free night kill for scum and we can come back tomorrow just as clueless. Thoughts anyone?

Few things I found interesting about Centurion's last post:

Quote:

How can I convince you that once again, we are going on a townie hunt?

Is that a claim, or an appeal to emotion?

I disagree, on the grounds that most players here would know that if they lurked they'd be called out for it and would take measures against it. What I find wierd is that this statement almost sounds like "Scum always do this, but cause I'm not I'm not scum!"

And I still don't like the way you seem to be against lynching, the only way we can hit scum is if we do lynch someone.

Why not? We'll get your role, the people who voted for you, the people who pushed for you lynch, the people who didn't vote for you, the people who defended you, etc. That's a lot of information in my eyes.

You can't make general statements like that when there's only 6 players, and they're all active. You need to name names here.

And because people are complaining that no one will take a third vote, I will. vote centurion

Sorry, I've missed some of the fun. I've been in depositions all day.

So now Centurion_Z is one vote away from being lynched. He just might be scum - honestly I don't have a strong sense about him either way, but I'll take the kill shot on him rather than not have a lynch at all.

But before I do that, since we don't have an impending deadline that I know of, I'll hold off for a while to give Cen_Z another chance to try and defend himself.

Wow, things took off pretty fast here, after having been almost at a standstill for a while. I don't know what to make of centurion's posts or the reasons for voting to lynch him either, so I'll just watch the development for a while and see if I can understand a little better.

So who's voting for me? I want to make sure the town knows exactly who pushed for my lynch when the inevitable fourth vote comes in.

I am willing to cast the fourth vote, if other people think it is a good idea. I'm still not convinced, though: I haven't seen any reason why CTZ is a better target than anyone else.

Quoted from Centurion_Z, post 60:

So who's voting for me? I want to make sure the town knows exactly who pushed for my lynch when the inevitable fourth vote comes in.

Well the first, and by far most vocal, vote was by Supa_Psyche, who has been pushing non-stop for your lynch. If you do turn out to be a townie, then Supa’s “got some ‘splainin to do!”

The second vote against you was by GC (post 44), who made a fairly aggressive vote against you, although I’m not sure if that points to him as being scummy.

The third vote against you is by da hobo (post 57), who stated that he did so “because people are complaining that no one will take a third vote” – which is true: the 3 previous posters before him all lamented on there not being a 3rd vote.

As for a possible 4th vote, both the ferret (post 61) and myself (post 58) have stated that, even though we do not have any overwhelming feeling one way or the other as to your possible scumminess, we would be wiling to take the kill shot rather than go into the night with a no lynch.

Useless, obvious comments like that don't raelly help your defense.

And just for the record, my reason for voting centurion isn't just “because people are complaining that no one will take a third vote”, I also posted other observations earlier.

da hobo: Fine, just let it be known your aggressive play will come back to haunt you tomorrow when it turns out I'm a townie.

So it seems the three against me and pretty set on lynching me over anyone else. Anyone care to add the final vote?

Hmmm . . . not sure what to think of Centurion_Z's reactions. At first, I just thought he was sore about the potential of being lynched on the first day and was just being a bit pissy about it. Now, I'm beginning to think that it's a smoke screen.

Either way, he's had plenty of opportunity to defend himself and all he's really done is whine about how we're out to get him. He may or may not be scum, but I am tired of the whining.

Oh, and if you're still keeping track Cen_Z - the fourth vote is by me:

Vote Centurion_Z

Do we think that this implies that Supa/Ray has a night action?

Yeah, that was real subtle wasn't it. During the night Supa_Psyche needs to be replaced - hmmm, wonder if he had a night action?

I was going to try and come up with a plausible explanation but, let's be honest, there isn't one.

Yes, I have a night action. Now, is it good or bad? Obviously, I'm going to say it's good but I'd say that whether or not I was good or bad.

Ironically, I was going to target Supa when he came back (although I wouldn't have been able to because I was killed in my original role) because he went after Centurion so hard. Turns out this new role isn't bad but now I'm confused as to why Supa was so sure Cent was scum.
