The game is afoot. Chaos has errupted in this quiet town, and murder, and other foul things ensue. So it begins.

It is night. Send in night actions and confirm role via email. Night ends at about 10:00 PM friday, EST. (~48 hours)

Alive:
VisMajor
Niempie
Debbie
theferret
DarthBane
Ovidious
CenturionZ_1
moach
newIdea

Not-So-Alive:
Street Hobo - OD'd Night 1
Nonchalant - Shot Night 1

Standard rules apply, but for the 48 hour nightcap. This should spped up the game a bit, I hope. And be sure to check your emails at the dawn of each new day.

It is very interesting indeed.

I would like to know how Vis happens to know that Debbie is paranoid.

I should point out at this juncture, that Debbie named Niempie as the Serial Killer. Not just any old scum, but the sk. From my experience, if the naive/paranoid/insane roles were being used, the results wouldn't come back so specific.

In the same vein, when last did you see anyone get information from the mod that a player was specifically a paranoid cop?? I'd venture not in a long while... I've only played games where the players need to decipher amongst themselves whether the cop is paranoid...

Which leads me to a couple options:
(1) Vis and Niempie are on the same side and Vis has made a dismal attempt at trying to protect her. Niempie would now be trying to distance herself from him based on her current posts.
(2) Vis is the SK and therefore knows that Debbie is wrong... although disputing her 'sanity' would be stupid strategically from his point of view.
(3) Vis has a role that allows him to interfere with night actions. He messed around with Debbie's investigation and therefore suspects that her investigation target is innocent. To protect himself, he's gone for the paranoid cop argument (claiming that you can alter people's night actions is not going to go down to well with town or scum, I don't think...).
(4) Vis is a paranoid cop detector and happened to investigate Debbie. He is also completely certain of his powers of persuasion that (a) he won't be lynched and (b) he'll convince us of his truthfulness and of night protection so he'll survive the night.

Probably more options, but I am not sure...

I don't understand Vis's strategy here. It's day 1 and he's disputing the credibility of someone who's claimed cop, but he won't provide any backup information. In this situation, bar any unforeseen events, it is likely that one of the three of them will be lynched: Debbie if we believe Vis, Niempie if we believe Debbie, or Vis if we believe Debbie or Vis if we just don't believe him.

VOTE NIEMPIE.
I believe Debbie at the moment, since there is nothing even marginally concrete that disputes her credibility. A denial from Niempie (shock shock, horror horror) and a "wait and see" from Vis just don't sway me at all.

OK, four votes on me right now.

I do think that there could very well be several cops in this game, and therefore be a paranoid/insane/sane/naive cop all along.

I am a cop in this game.
I investigated Centurion last night and got back that he is innocent.
I have got a role, but I won't tell you all that, beacuse this will only help the scum more I think. They already know a couple of roles now.

I recieved something during the first night, that might indicate that there was a paranoid investigation. Since debbie came up with a guilty, I assume she is the paranoid one.

I don't have any reason to doubt Niempie's claim, other than the fact I have seen scum claim cop before. It could be that Niempie is a scum cop (that seems doubtful as it just seems odd in a game this size). Ofcourse, saying Centurion is innocent is nothing. Niempie, if she is mafia, would know who is innocent, or she could be trying to defend a fellow mafia.

This too shall pass

Niempie: You like investigating me don't you?

I must say that Niempie and I aren't a group. She is most defintely not defending a fellow mafia.

I know I have a pretty random and annoying role which lends itself perfectly to this chaos game (I will reveal if needs be) but what I'm saying is that I believe there to be many, many cops in this game, most of them unreliable and chaotic.

I therefore doubt all the cop claims so far. Niempie probably isn't SK, or Debbie a paranoid cop (I think BTW Vis is also a cop who investigated Debbie).

This is all too confusing...but I don't know what to lynch at the moment. watchwood has seriously messed with us.

Niempie...would you please reveal what my 'role' turned out to be. If it's not what I know myself to be then I'll know that cop investigations are chaotic.

Just realized that four puts us just one away, which is closer than I want to be at this time.

How many people have claimed cop so far?

Hmmm, I am starting to get a real sense of deja vu with this. Wasn't there a game a long time back where a number of people were cops, but they were of all persuasions, insane, naive, paranoid and real. I didn't play that game, but I remember that the players had to synchronise their investigations in order to isolate the naive and paranoid cops from the equation and identify who the real and insane cops were. Once identified, the insane cops were as potent as the real cops. In fact, wasn't it one of your games, Darth?

So Centurion, is Niempie right? On the one hand, I thought the mod would not fabricate a role for a naive/insane/paranoid cop, as that's pretty devious. However, if some cops are getting specific roles, all types of cops must be getting roles... that means, if Niempie is insane or naive, Centurion could well be evil too and now knows that Niempie's not a proper cop...

By my count we have three claimed cops: Debbie, Niempie and Vis. Even though Vis says Deb is paranoid, we don't know that Vis is completely sane either...

I hope my logic is ok... read the thread last night and flew through the new posts this morning, so I hope I haven't missed something.

By the way, newIdea is very quiet...

Of course, how could I forget... I new it was one of the 'twisted mods' that ran that game!

Quoted from Niempie:

Hmm, at this moment I wonder who isn't a cop in this game...

Now that's the million dollar question!

Ok, four claimed cops:
Debbie investigates Niempie and says she's SK. (Debbie possibly sane, insane, paranoid)
Vis investigates Debbie and says she's paranoid cop. (Vis possibly sane, insane, paranoid)
Niempie investigates Centurion and says he's townie. (Niempie possibly sane, insane, naive)
theferret investigates Debbie and says she's townie. (theferret possibly sane, insane, naive)

Oh, and of course any of these could be lying... I still think Vis's result is the odd one out in terms of the detailed information that he claims to have received. "Paranoid cop" seems to be a different level of information to "SK" or "townie"... anyway...

I'd say it'd be quite dangerous to lynch today on any claimed cop's investigation. We have so many now that it's impossible to tell whether anyone is lying or the type of cop we're dealing with.
