Peaceville...
Population 18 (or so it seems – our soap opera doesn’t feature non-core characters too often).

On the surface, Peaceville is, well, peaceful. But the veneer of civilisation is cracked and peeling. Things aren’t always what they seem. Prepare for power struggles, lust, betrayal, love triangles, intrigue, hospitals and doctors and DNA tests and pills, mad(wo)men and basements, brain implants, brain tumours, hospitals, leukemia, hospitals, policemen and their longsuffering wives, hospitals, princesses, long-lost twin siblings, mothers-in-law from hell, burnt out car wrecks with charred bodies, clearly recognizable by their inscribed rings, blurred generations where the ages of people, their half-siblings, their children, their grandchildren are separated by ten years, serial brides and grooms, and did we mention hospitals?

Still covered in suds...(1):
Celt in Exile

All washed up...
Bobby Ewfield, aka Bengel, blown to smithereens, Night 0.
Gracie Keller, aka Supa Psyche, mason, became a human pincushion, Day 1.
Sister Rose Aimes, aka CenturionZ_1, nurse, killed in a hit-and-run 'accident', Night 1.
Father Patrick O'Reilly, aka Sergius Laudius, day cop, gunned down at the chapel, Night 1.
Sheila Davids, aka Nonchalant, madwoman, killed in a shoot-out with police, Night 1.
Dr Jason Melville, aka Street Hobo, doc, driven out of Peaceville, Day 2.
Bobby Ewfield, aka Bengel, dreamer townie, blown to smithereens again, Night 2.
Heather Templeton, aka Starkey, self-recruiting mafia member, unplugged from life support, Night 2.
Lizzy Tylah, aka Watchwood, mason, smoked one too many, Day 3.
Viktor Malado, aka Rayotep, crazy scientist, has been eliminated, Night 3.
Dot Weatherly, aka VisMaior, scum matriarch, has gotten her come-uppance, Night 3.
Timber Masterson, aka Sul, scum son, has died almost unnoticed of a wasting disease, Day 4.
David Scott, aka Debbie, townie, killed by shooting and hit-and-run, Night 4.
Maximillian Weatherly, aka Reckless Rodent, scum patriarch, has splattered very publicly, Day 5
Brady Beauman, aka Darth, cop, has followed in his father's footsteps, to his grave, Night 5.
Cliff Masterson, aka Niempie, scum patriarch, has been shot, Night 5.
Steve Scott, aka Debbie, one-shot vigilanted lynched, Day 6.
Daisy Masterson, aka Weave, scum matriarch, killed in head-on collision, Night 6.
Resin Weatherly, aka Kedi, scum son, killed in head-on collision, Night 6.

GAME OVER: TOWN WINS.

Because it's likely I'm killed tonight:

Night 0 - CIE (innocent)
Night 1 - Nonchalant
Night 2 - Ray
Night 3 - Missed deadline
Night 4 - Reck (scum patriarch)

Night 1 I investigated Non, which I believe led to a scripted action in which, if Non was investigated, would end with a police shootout and his death. I'm not sure he knew this. Day 2 I tried to get Ray lynched for being a mad scientist. It was indicated by my e-mail from Ovi that his scientist status was not a good thing, and I knew (also from the mail) that it was he who was controlling the votes. However, I couldn't really come out as cop at this point, because I would make myself far too obvious a target and there were still multiple scum out there. Of course, Night 3 narrowed the numbers of scum, but I missed the deadline. Luckily my gut pointed me towards Sul and Reck on day 3. Voted for Sul, investigated Reck, and voila.

My only suspicions now are Kedi and Niempie... possibly weave, but slightly less so.

Reck had a restless night... bad dreams about his dead wife. As he surfaced from his sleep, he realised that it was very warm for 5:30am, his usual waking up time. It also seemed, through his closed eyelids, to be a lot lighter. He rolled over and opened an eye to check his alarm clock... 7:24am! His alarm hadn't gone off and he was going to be late for an important board meeting...

It was the wrong meeting to be late for. By the time he arrived at the boardroom, the damage was done. The board, concerned by his lack of focus following the death of his wife, had voted him out. He no longer controlled the company that he had poured his sweat, blood and tears into. This was the final straw... Reck retired to his plush office atop the 45 storey headquarters of the MaxiFortuna Corporation, shattered. His secretary never heard a sound as he stepped out onto the balcony and launched himself over the edge. Fortunately, he hit only the pavement and nobody else was injured.

Maximillian Weatherly, aka Reck, scum patriarch of the Weatherly clan, has effectively been killed by democracy.

It is now night 5. Send nightactions by Friday 17h00 GMT.

Brady Beauman was no ordinary cop. His passion for his job was remarkable, like his father before him. And, every moment outside of work, he was trying to track down the evil people who had so cruelly cut short his father's life. He was getting closer to finding out the truth, he could feel it. Tonight, he had a particular suspect in mind. Parking his car, he decided to follow on foot, silently watching, waiting for some clue. Gravel crunched behind him. He whirled around, but before he could defend himself, the silhoutted figure emptied his gun, pumping Brady full of lead.

Brady Beauman, aka Darth, cop, has followed in his father's footsteps, to his grave.

Cliff Masterson chuckled. The snoopy cop lay in a pool of blood before him. He returned the gun to his pocket and walked back to his car. He usually didn't stoop to doing dirty work like this, but desperate times called for desperate measures. He got into his car and, putting the keys into the ignition, heard a click as a person in the back seat loaded a gun. "What goes around, comes around," said the figure, before firing into the back of the billionaires head.

Cliff Masterson, aka Niempie, scum patriarch and head of the multinational Naturastra Corporation, has been shot.

It is now Day 6. Four alive means three to lynch.

Daisy Masterson, fifty-eight year old widow and sole heir to a fabulous fortune.

Resin Weatherly, thirty year old orphan and sole heir to a fabulous fortune.

Together, these two individuals control more economic production than a number of medium-sized national economies. The possibilities are endless.

Ms. Masterson's secretary arranged an evening meeting between the two in a private dining room at the Peaceville Ritz. Daisy's chauffeur drove her from her hilltop mansion to the hotel. Resin drove from his hilltop mansion to the hotel in his family's sleek black car. He was a notoriously impatient and reckless driver and, while thinking of his current takeover bid for a large Argintinian mining conglomerate, ran a traffic light. His car ploughed into a white car, as expensive as his. The two cars smashed into each other, metal crumpling and intertwining. Silence... None of the occupants stirred. Spectacularly, the cars exploded into flames, incinerating the occupants.

Daisy Masterson, aka Weave, scum matriarch, and
Resin Weatherly, aka Kedi, scum son, have died in a horrific car crash.

Princess Gina Carlotti, aka Celt in Exile, commuter townie, watches on.

TOWN WINS!

Thanks everyone for playing - I enjoyed watching, even though I couldn't pay as much attention to the game as I usually would have. Before I reveal the inner workings of the game, I need to apologies to Kedi and her Weatherly clanmates. I missed the fact that she had not yet submitted her night action on Night 5 and started Day 6 before the stated deadline. I am terribly sorry!!

At that stage, Celt, Darth, Debbie, Kedi, Niempie and Weave were alive. Debbie killed Niempie and Niempie's clan killed Darth. I am hoping that Kedi would have chosen to kill Darth (who had been revealed to be the cop) and if this is so, the outcome of the game would not have been affected. Had she chosen one of the townies (Celt or Debbie), I don't think it likely that the outcome would have been affected either. If she had targeted Weave, it would have been Debbie and Celt and Kedi left, and if Debbie had made her mistake again, Kedi would have won. Again, I offer my sincere apologies!! I hope you won't hold it against me in the future!

Game Setup

"Standard" Roles:
Weatherly scum: Reck (father), Vis (mother), Kedi (son)
Masterson scum: Niempie (father), Weave (mother), Sul (son)
Cop: Darth
Doc: Street Hobo
Backup Doc: CenturionZ_1
Masons: Supa Psyche and Watchwood. They had two night actions, each usable only once, namely an investigation and a nightkill.

Non-Standard Roles
Dreamer Townie: Bengel - Dreamer townie can be killed once, but will 'come back to life' in the following day. The basis for this role was correctly guessed - Dallas and Bobby Ewing etc. I thought the "Bobby Ewfield" name would have given it away!
Commuter Townie: Celt - Pretty standard commuter role. Celt could choose two nights during which he (as a European princess) would go to his palace in Europe, and would therefore be immune to nightkills. Based on All My Children and Days of Our Lives.
Twin Townie: Debbie - Starts off as a townie, but when killed, returns as the original character's twin, with one nightkill (ie. a townie that becomes a one-shot vig). Based on about every soapie there is!
Mad(wo)man: Nonchalant - Chooses to kidnap one person per night. Carried a 10% chance of own death, a 33% chance of kidnap victim's death. (In retrospect, the odds were a bit off... should have been a higher chance of killing). Based on Bold and Beautiful.
Crazy Scientist: Ray - The crazy scientist chooses one person in whose brain he implants a microchip, allowing him to control that person's vote. The choice of 'implantee' is made during the night, the choice of whom the implantee should vote for is made during the day. The implantee has a 33% chance of dying during removal of the chip during the following night (this was the scar that I spoke about). Based on Days of Our Lives. The Madwoman and the Crazy Scientist could, however, form a killing group with nightkills rather than their individual actions, should either of them target the other.
Day Cop: Sergius Laudius - I didn't realise that Sergius had never played before and didn't know how to play at all - I only found out during night 1 and he was killed that night. As priest, he could choose to confess someone if he (the day cop) wasn't voting for him and if that person had half the votes required for a lynch. However, should he reveal the confession in the game, future targets would be (50%) less likely to confess. This role is unashamedly borrowed from Debbie's game, and slightly modified.
Self-Recruiting Mafia Member: Starkey - I like this role a lot, but unfortunately it didn't work too well... perhaps it needs some fine-tuning. Aka 'The Conniver', the SRMM chooses a target each night. If the target is an unmarried male mafia member, the SRMM marries him and becomes a mafia member. If the target is a married male mafia member, the SRMM has an affair with him, and the SRMM finds out that the target is male mafia member. If the target is not a male mafia member, nothing happens. The SRMM wins with scum, only if married to scum, otherwise the SRMM loses. Based on so many soaps, but Bold and the Beautiful in particular.

Night Actions

Night 0
One twist: Scum fathers didn't know the identity of their family members before the start of day 1. They therefore had a choice of not killing during night 0, or of killing blindly and possibly killing a fellow scum member, although I didn't spell this out. Reck was brave (reckless? ), but Niempie chose not to kill.

Celt (commuter) goes to Europe.
Darth (cop) investigates Celt.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills nobody.
Nonchalant (madwoman) kidnaps Street Hobo.
Ray (crazy scientist) implants a chip in Debbie's brain.
Reck (Weatherly scum) kills Bengel.
Starkey (conniver) tries to seduce Ray.
Street Hobo (doc) protects Ray.
Supa and Watchwood do nothing.

Day 1
Debbie forced to vote for Supa Psyche.
Supa Psyche (mason) lynched.

Night 1
Celt (commuter) stays in Peaceville.
Darth (cop) investigates Nonchalant.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills CenturionZ_1.
Nonchalant (madwoman) kidnaps CenturionZ_1, but dies during the process.
Ray (crazy scientist) implants a chip in Starkey's brain.
Reck (Weatherly scum) kills Sergius Laudius.
Starkey (conniver) tries to seduce Reck, but Reck is still married...
Street Hobo (doc) protects Ray.
Watchwood follows Starkey and see evidence of his affair...
Debbie survives extraction of chip.

Day 2
Starkey forced to vote for Street Hobo.
Street Hobo (doc) lynched.

Night 2
Celt (commuter) goes to Europe (final night action).
Darth (cop) investigates Ray.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills Starkey.
Ray (crazy scientist) implants a chip in Vismaior's brain.
Reck (Weatherly scum) kills Bengel, again.
Starkey (conniver) misses deadline.
Watchwood does nothing.

Day 3
Vismaior forced to vote for Darth.
Watchwood (mason) lynched.

Night 3
Darth (cop) missed deadline.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills Vismaior.
Ray (crazy scientist) dies so didn't wait for nightaction.
Reck (Weatherly scum) kills Ray.

Day 4
Sul lynched.

Night 4
Darth (cop) investigates Reck.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills Debbie, who then returns as one-shot vig.
Reck (Weatherly scum) kills Debbie.

Day 5
Reck lynched.

Night 5
Darth (cop) investigates Kedi.
Debbie (one-shot vig) kills Niempie.
Niempie (Masterson scum) kills Darth.
Kedi (Weatherly scum) denied a kill accidentally by mod.

Day 6
Debbie lynched.

Night 6
Weave (Masterson scum) kills Kedi.
Kedi (Weatherly scum) kills Weave.

Celt in Exile is sole survivor and town wins.

Good game, well planned Ovi!
I had a good idea that Debbie had in fact made a genuine mistake in voting for me on the last day.
For once I sat and tried to work out the outcomes of my lynch vote, working on a feeling that Debbie had erred, I thought the best hope I had was to get her lynched and hope Weave and Kedi would have to kill each other.
For once, it all went to plan.
