Just wondering. For my first time, I used normal, but now I am using hard. Knowing what level you people use will help me help you on certain scens. One reason is because Hyksos are quite easy to beat on normal(1 fort can easily take 4), but on hard, they are nearly impossible to beat.

I started at very easy. Once I understood the basics of the game, I began a new career on hard until about the 5th mission, then I switched to normal. I'm now playing Thinis (military) at normal. The military missions seem easier. This was true for me playing Caesar3, as well. When I finish this career, I'll try the peaceful missions.

When I first started out I played on normal, all the way until I read this original message and learning the number of other pharaoh players who play at the hard level. now i play only at the hard level. i even replayed all of my original campaigns fromt the very beginning of the game at the hard level. what gets me though is that my score remained higher for some of those at the easier level. go figure! i guess i used more debens or took more game months to complete those replayed missions. i'm now in the Abu campaing, though i've still got to finish Abedju (those three mastabas take forever and that bores the heck out of me -- sorry monument lovers!), and am looking forward to the challenge!

I'm playing on Normal for two reasons. One, I have been playing strategy games for 10+ years and even though there are a number of new concepts in Pharaoh, it is not too hard to understand and play. Secondly, my game time is limited (2 hours max each night) and there are, what, 35+ scenarios?!? I will only have enough time to go through them once.
