After following the suggestions in the responses to my previous questions, my cities have really flourished. Now, my industries get workers and my people are fed and happy. I built my own custom scenario as a sort of proof of concept. 10 years into my now very profitable city, I've repelled 2 invasions, my trade is flourishing, all of my 6000 residents are in small casa or better, and the people love me. Thanks again for all of those suggestions!
I do, however, have one problem. My random walkers are drawn to my granaries like moths to a flame. Once they get to the granaries, they bounce around inside like pinballs. The up side is that my granaries will never catch fire or fall down, but the down side is that I've had to build redundant service buildings.
My tentative solution is to build "granary blocks" that will be isolated from the rest of the city by gatehouses. I really don't want to have to do this, since it sounds incredibly inefficient. Has anyone discovered a way to prevent games of pinball in granaries? I saw another post that suggested placing the granary on the inside of a corner so that the walkers could take a diagonal short cut. Does that effectively solve the problem?
Thanks for any suggestions!
