South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.
I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Fun? Not really... At least summer compensates, when the sun sets around 22:00 and rises before 5.

Still soudns like fun to me. Maybe some day I'll go and have a holiday in the north.
Anyway, there was rain just now, although it was mostly clear.

Very stormy today, with drenching rain. Had a tornado tear through a Wal-Mart in Newton,MS. Full of holiday shoppers. Injured fifty, with two critically.

Oh gosh... hope they will all be alright.
Storms during noon. I was taking the bus home when the top suddenly started to leak and fortunately for me, I've moved away in time. The whole seat soon became wet.

Doesn't sound good...OM.
After a serious amount of fog yesterday evening, it's back to being clear and cold.

Amazingly heavy rain in the early afternoon. The rain was pouring down in sheets and the wind so strong I could hear it whistle under the cracks of the doors, and our plants were swaying as if about to break.

Looks like the western end always gets plenty of water. We had heavy rain too, but it wasn't those kind of thunder and lightning style.

Lots of thunder and lightning as well. Obviously convectional rain, these storms never last very long.

Big storm and rain last night.
Traffic wreck in the storm last night.. an 18-wheeler crashed and burned. The truck was carrying 21 tons of cotton which caught on fire and spilled all over the roadway. The whole freeway was closed for 15 hours. No one seriously hurt
Now it is cloudy and cool. No white Christmas for South Texas.
Re-reading this, it reminds me of a story my mom told me. She was driving along on the freeway and a big truck wrecked and spilled grain all over the roadway. While they waited for the clean up crews to come, all these... birds.. just swooped out of nowhere...just all kinds from everywhere. She thought she was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie..

mid 70s and sunny here today, more of the same tomorrow
Well, Christmas was nice and brown and the snow started falling on Sunday instead Made for a nice white New Year's and since we've had at least one holiday with snow, it's time for another Chinook. Everything will be melting today This is the first day above freezing in the last week or two. We were getting used to the -15 C temperatures

Jag, you don't want to come to Holland just now...
It's been raining steadily for the past three days. They've issued flood warnings and our backyard has 4 inches of water on top of the soil...
Our first snowfall of the winter here in the Scottish Borders - looks very pretty today in the bright sun. No floods here, though plenty of warnings further south.
Well, 1000 posts of weather - guess we'll never tire of this topic!
