South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.
I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

...low blow Memsurs ..most of us will need to paint our golf balls bright red, or have them be able to float. I play in a water-hazard all winter long..others in snow filled sand traps
The rain arrived again this afternoon...a real soaker

Wow, San Diego sounds worse than Singapore. What with Dinosaurs from The Lost World...

nah, the dinosaurs tend to hang out around downtown. As long as you avoid downtown, you should be fine

..but straying too far south would land a person in Tj..might make the Dinos seem harmless
Big winds massive power outages..trees limbs everywhere. Traffic accidents related to blocked roads and control signals not working. Raining sort of sideways..if you can imagine that

Another grey day and more to come. Temperature's about 7°C. Wind's picking up though.
:: wonders if a snow filled bunker counts as a water hazard or accindental water... ::
Well Jay it's also overcast ATM. I was thinking of going out to look for the asteroid Vesta. Looks like it's impossible. It's only visible until the end of the month!

No chance for viewing any thing withthe telescope here either.
We had 40 to 50 mph winds with 80 mph gusts..MMm? ever see a flying tree?? Many trees were uprooted because the ground is so moist and soft. All this has caused massive power outages..we lost power around 5AM..good thing I had just finished making coffee Electricity restored just before lunch..Thanksgiving dinner will be delayed two hours because of this...

Wow! Sounds very, very bad, ET. 80mph!!! Sounds more like a typhoon than 'a gust' to me.

I agree DX luckily most of those "gusts" occurred along the coastal areas.. Winds in the 50-60 range did enough damage here as it stands. We have so many big trees..and they aren't very wind resistant..so causes some real headaches when they uproot or break apart.
Nothing has happened tonight so far..we are hoping the storm will be more to the north this evening.

Well US and Canada always seems to have such disasters (though this one is only half a disaster), right? Tsunamies and all that... We're lucky to have none of these here in Singapore. Disaster-free country!

Impressive weather, ET. We've had strong winds, but nothing as bad as that...yet.
We were spared a second blast..so spent the day with a chainsaw..I lost nine trees along the shoreline..now they are firewood Some rock fill-in is necessary to keep the erosion down, now that the trees are gone.
Light drizzle most of the day..having a hot toddy to take the chill off the days labours yummy

DX ..are you making fun of mother nature here? If you had heard the howling and crashing..trees over two feet thick and 45-50 ft tall..snapped like twigs You'd gain much respect, as I have for Mother Nature..hehe
Light rain falling..still colder than usual..hope it doesn't freeze..the roads would be like a skating rink

TWO major hail storms today..one (the second one) deposited over an inch of pea sized hail..lots of wind and sleet between the storms..didn't want to venture outside at all today.
Hoping for clearing skies tomorrow so I can go out and assess the damage.
