OK.. New thread

South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.

I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Nice weekend here...warmer and sunny during the day and warmer at night. It was actually down into the 20s one night last week. Today: rain all day, and I don't know where I left my raincoat. Somewhere at work, I think.

*shiver*...Cold winds and freezing temps early this AM, and I hope the roadways are clear. Monday commuter rush on icy roads makes many fender bender situations At least it isn't foggy..the crashes become massive if the visibility is down

Lots of wind, bits of clouds, bits of sun.

Rings around the full moon last night.

Just back on line here after 24 hours with no electricity (and no Pharaoh, and no Zeus!) - damage to the power network caused by high winds yesterday, gusting to 120 mph. However, apart from one demolished garden fence, no other structural damage here, though one of my neighbours lost his garage roof. Glad to say a lot calmer today.

We are cold and damp..kinda normal, we never like the cold..and accept the wet. So if you wonder why they call us Webfeet people..now you know

My goodness! All our trees here would be uprooted!

It's good weather as usual... I could just see the sun setting a while ago. Now it's behind some clouds.

WOW!!! Snow in parts of San Diego yesterday! http://www.uniontribune.com/news/metro/20020130-9999_6m30storm.html

They called some of it hail, but it was the softest hail I've ever seen and piled up like snow.
Strange. The frost is very, very heavy again here. I think I am going to lose some plants . The forcasted temp for last night was 26! BRRRRRRRRR.

Oh, so did your plants survive the weather, Memsurs?

What a beautiful sunset! It's reddening the whole evening sky. Wonderful!

Most survived, but I did lose a lantana and a sweet pea. I had some others that took some heavy damage, but they should bounce back.

The newspaper ran a report saying that we didn't actually have any snow here in San Diego, we had graupel. In case you are wondering what that is (like I was), check out this site http://www.cedarnet.org/imagine/snowinfo.html. The weather service here said that it isn't snow, though.

What's graupel, Memsurs?

We have fine weather today. In fact, there isn't much rain recently.

There's sun somewhere, at least I throw a shadow on my PC. However, the sky still looks gray.

So Memsurs, did you have avalanches?

Did some cleaning in the garden. The Lavatera's dead again, but as it grows into a decent shrub in a summer, I'm not complaining. The rest's looking fine and hyacinths, daffodils and crocusses are popping up green leaves.

The hellebore is almost flowering.

A surprise..another dry day..the rest of the week is looking to be wet..so far no early rhodies like last year.

Lovely to have your hyacinths, daffodils and crocusses on the way toward spring already A. Jay

A/C for your game..DX ..now that's really having it made..

There's a few tulips as well.

The daffodils are small yellow ones next to the pondlets. The others are blue and are at the edge of the path and the lawn

Hot as usual... We had a history test today. I wrote quite a lot but I realised only after I handed up the paper that... I wrote the date wrongly!! 6-2-02 became 6-1-02. I kept thinking that this month is January. Both months are equally hot and uncomfortable.
