OK.. New thread

South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.

I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Rain last night, and a real rain this time, not a drizzle like before. We probably got about an inch. Still comfortable during the day and starting to get chilly at night.

Strange things going on here too! We've spent the last two weeks with temps 15 degrees above average. It's pretty odd to have highs in the 60s in November here in Minnesota. Not that I'm complaining...

the rain and slight wind with it made many of the pecans drop last night...there are literally thousands of pecans on the patio now! There are also lots of crows out back now, too. Yesterday, I counted over 40 at once...they really seem to like the pecans! I gave a bunch away at work yesterday, but it didn't even make a dent in the layer of pecans in the back yard...and I don't have a clue what I am going to do with them...they don't rake up easily at all, the mower doesn't break the shell-it just sends them flying. I am temped to put on my work boots and crush them all...it'll be fun, at least.

..Memsurs ..I have filbert orchards so can empathize. I finally built a house far enough away from any nut bearing trees..sure saved my boots that way.

Not raining today..

It's raining now, though not very heavy. At least weather is returning to normal.

Sunny once more, but we had frost this night. Thin skins of ice on puddles, rhyme everywhere, giving silvery, sparkely edges to grass and tress.

Pretty...

Miserable? Sounds great to me. Must be because of the fact that I haven't seen snow... But I think it's miserable to have rain all day.

I just wonder. Do those wild geese migrate to other areas temporarily?

Yes..most of the geese and other birds migrate..though some stay here all year round. My property borders a bird santuary, and the whole south end of the lake in a wildlife refuge.

Slacked off the rain momentarily..still breezy so expect the showers to continue..Temps dropped to 39F last night...*shiver* not many things are more chilling than a damp..cold wind on your neck in November

Wow, then you get to see plenty of birds. Our usual ones are the blackbird, sparrow and the irritating crows. Sometimes, we see sparrows flying about.

Are the skies clear? If it is, then it should be really good for looking at the meteor shower.

Too many clouds for the Meteor show The rain did cease for the moment, and the wind still is very brisk and chilly. There's a possibility of frost..which could mean clear skies..we can hope even if it means being very cold

This morning the temp dropped to 34F..almost freezing

The nice weather is still holding around here. Cool (not cold) nights and warm days. Spent the day raking leaves, then mowing grass. Strange (but very nice) weather.

Im presently barefoot (just a country boy at heart), grilling sword fish steaks on the deck. The wine is chilled, rolls in the oven, wild rice is steaming and the wife is putting the finishing touches on a wonderful salad.

Should be a nice evening.

Very nice indeed I suspect VAIA..no lawn work for me other than a smathering of leaves from the next county..( a little breezy as mentioned earlier).

I did make some babyback ribs..seems I never make enough since my 12 year old can pack away several racks in one sitting.. He tips the scales at 200lbs now and grew an inche since August, so is a clean and clear 6 ft. By next year I'll probably have to deal with barbecuing a whole steer to satisfy is appetite

Plenty of clouds now, though it is very hot. I've opened all the windows to enjoy the heat. Very peaceful afternoon, as usual. My parents are out, and I can play as much as I want.

Vaia, you make me slaver at the mouth...

No snow, Duan, just drizzle, much like today and most of the weekend. Haven't seen the sun in days.

Don't move to San Diego then DX, we normally go from May until November without having a cloudy day . A cloudy day during the summer here is being able to see 2 small puffy clouds way off on the horizon

OK Rub it in Memsurs ...like A Jay we also can get weeks of unchanging gray skys..damp-n-cold. We are use to it and just throw another log on the fire..

High overcast today and the flocks of birds coming in from the north seem heavier... must be a good day for flying
Temps hanging around 50ish ..no wind finally.
