OK.. New thread

South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.

I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Lovely, lovely lovely...
Sunny and sweet. Made use of it to plant the little scimmia and a rust coloured chrysanthemum in our front garden.
The big one already looks stunning

I also will be needing to plant some bulbs for the spring...

I've been predicting a earlier winter..and looks to be so in Zen's photos. The PacNW needs a good soggy winter, nothing severe, but you know mother nature..no effort is done half way

Partly cloud..nice warming sun breaks, might reach 60ish(F) today

Drizzle went away. Sunny once more.
The sky was so clear I saw Orion for the first time this year. Winter is definitely coming.

I'll check Orion this weekend when I closeup the cabin for the winter. The location is almost 6,000ft elevation, so the stars are strikingly visible most of the time. A little frost on the pumpkins early this AM.. put more than a sweater on..*brrr* No rain for a day or so..maybe this evening.

No frost as yet, but we're a lot lower than 6000 feet.
Some 5999 I think

Weather is wonderfully balmy. I hope it's the same in the UK where we'll be spending our weekend.

Well, balmy NOT, here in the Scottish Borders. Cloudy and overcast with heavy rain today, also quite windy. Not cold, though - no frosts here yet.

Where in the UK are you heading, Jayhawk? According to the weather reports I've seen, it's been a bit drier and brighter in the south of England lately, though showers and blustery patchy rain is the forecast for later in the week......you never know, though, could all be much better by the weekend! Enjoy your trip!

It has finally cooled off somewhat here. The nights are getting down into the low 50s or even into the 40s, so it does feel like fall for most of the day. The afternoons, though are still in the mid eighties to lower ninties and really, really dry since the Santa Ana kicked in last week. Hopefully they will end soon and we will get some good fall weather.

Hasn't turned out yet, ET.
PtaW, we'll be 'sailing' to Newcastle, then driving down to Durham.

Close-ish to the Scottish border.

The weather here is still fine...

Well, very wet and foggy, all the way up the east coast, so bad that I hear the golf at St Andrews has been interrupted - who said it never rains on a golf course?

Soggy I know well..here in the PacNW I can assure you I've played more "wet" golf than "dry"..and water hazards can occur anywhere

Nice and dry today though...October-festivities in full swing..Wine fetivals too "yum"

Fall has finally hit here. Upper 70s to low 80s for highs, down into the 40s at night. Feels nice!

We get the fog here sometimes in the mornings, but not the rain. I think that the last rain we got was in May, and there isn't any in sight. The cooler weather is a sign that the rain will be here soon!

Ack! Rumor has it that we'll have some snow by the end of the week! I guess this means summer really is over. We had our first hockey game last night, so I suppose it is that time of the year.

PtaW, I'm sure we had the same weather.
Fog so thick I couldn't see the top of Durham Cathedral (or even the Castle...or the other bank of the river).

When there wasn't any fog it was raining, and sometimes it rained when there was was fog...

Oh well, the ale was good

I'm very curious as to the slides

Ah yes, the foaming brown liquid - there are always consolations somewhere!

(slides??.....)

Rain finally stopped here this morning, even a glimmer of the sun trying to break through the clouds, but oh so wet underfoot - soggy leaves are much more difficult to sweep up!

(edit - rain came back this afternoon, for goodness sake. Not as bad as some parts of south-east England, though, where I hear they've had a month's rain in 24 hours - hope no citybuilders flooded out down there.........)

I took 2 roles of slides while I was there, PtaW.
Very foggy ones I assume but I like to see how they look. I hope to pick them up at the photoshop this afternoon.

It was foggy here this morening too. However, we seem to have experieced the warmest October in 300 years!

More AM fog and several days with milder afternoons..I'd say we've had a very moderate entry into fall too. MMm?? I don't think our recorded weather history goes back as far as Hollands..

Just a few more leaves on the trees..orchard is starting to show its winter image
