OK.. New thread

South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.

I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Temperature in Singapore never falls below 20 degrees Celsius, I tell you. I reckon recent temperatures to be at the lowest-26 degrees and the highest 35 degrees. I prefer hot weather for I'm more used to it.

My parents just removed the blinds of my computer room. Now, the evening sunlight is spraying into the room now, and I can[edit]'t[/edit] see the things on the monitor clearly.

We will get down to about 5 degrees Celsius (40 degrees F) in the winter at night, but still generally have warm days. We have 2 seasons here...the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season can start anytime from Nov to Jan and will last until about April or May. After that, it is generally hot and dry, with temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius possible in the summer (113-115 F)

one VERY nice thing is the almost total absence of bugs! I almost never get bit by mosquitos anymore and don't swallow bugs while riding my bike . There are an amazing amount of spiders, though

No bugs..and how fat are the spiders?

Fall here drastically reduces the bug population..just need to control the ones that want move in with you.

A little frosty with these clear skies, and big clouds move through quickly. I hope that means the snow pak is getting an early start..skiing is a big deal around here.

well, there are daddy long-legs all over inside the houses and I see alot of big fat black widows outside. There are also alot of the daddy long-legs outside too, along with the common large garden spider that spins a web that I always walk into on the way to the car

Sounds like Florida..as I remember checking my shoes every morning there.. I always thought it had something to do with the abundance of Palm trees..

We have an ever increasing bug populace here. Because, before a heavy rain, insects will be flying everywhere. You will know it when you see birds flying about hunting for a decent meal.

Black Widows? Aren't they very poisonous?

Yep, they are poisonous, though I have never heard of anyone getting bit by one. We see them all the time in dark corners around the outside of the house. My mother-in-law actually found one in one of her dish cabinets in the kitchen...I got an emergency call and had to go over and kill it for her . The bigger problem around here is the rattlesnakes. There seem to be 4 or 5 bites every summer, usually kids . Luckily, the variety around here usually isn't deadly, just very painful and a long hospital stay. The hospitals also stay stocked up on antivenom

Just reviewed the week forecast..Sun until the weekend then RAIN!!..just need to nudge that rain down LA's way

We've have a few rattlesnakes, but recently due to the drought conditions we have roaming bears and mountain lions checking our garbage dumpsters.

Animal control people are really busy..but assure us that all will normal when their natural habitat provides suffient food. * O when might that be you ask? * maybe by next summer..they hope

Our only threat was the tiger. That was over a hundred years ago.

I read the newspapers too. Rain expected today and tomorrow all over the island.

Showers with strong wind. Odd bits of sun peeking out.

Most dangerous animal (besides man) here?
Adders/vipers. They are few and far between, though.
Almost extinct.

Can't see a sunset like yesterday. Too much clouds around the horizon. In fact, I can't even see the sun. (No, the sun hasn't set yet)

Sunny at the moment, though.

Clear..cold..and no fog this AM Grass is white from frosty covering..sipping coffee til it warms up

DX ..freezing rain is a condition where the rain freezes as soon as it strikes the ground..very very slick situation. It leaves a clear sheet of ice..covering everything...so if sleet and hail follows closely..this disquises the ice and makes conditions extremely hazardous for auto traffic..and just about everything else come to think of it

..I felt a chill just thinking about it

we close the city down on just a rumor of snow .. if someone sees five snowflakes on the north side of the city and we are likely to call off school..

Did you all see the aurora on the 5th this month? I read about it in my Astronomy newsletter.

No snow here. On the contrary, we have a full-day sunshine today. Very good weather, and no sign of raining yet.
