OK.. New thread

South Texas is having spring-almost-summer weather. High 80Fs and breezy. Showers in the afternoon.

I have some kind of vine growing on a wrought iron structure. It is doing fine, and is showing off its ONE flower again. Now, I appreciate ONE flower, but how come after 3 years it isnt covered with purple blooms?

Spring is here! And it promises to be a wonderful Easter weekend with temps on Easter Sunday expected to be in the 15C range.

** waves to everyone **

It snowed here today, certainly the first time this winter, and I don't recall any last year at all

But it didn't lay, it melted within minutes

What a wonderful Easter

Hi everyone
My birthday is April 25, when I was small, my mother promised a picnic for my birthday, we had to have it on the kitchen floor because ther was 2 feet of snow! That's the latest I've seen it.

We've had snow fall in all twelve months here. Luckily that's not the norm. Although a snowstorm in May IS the norm around here... Ah well.

This week is a bit chilly, with some snow yesterday, but at least it's sunny today. And the snow all melted.

Heck, Thai weather was horrible. It hits 38degC at times and the climate is extremely humid. Even in the evenings and early mornings, the weather is so hot that I perspire non-stop. It's hard to go to sleep with all those mosquitoes too. Lousy place to be in, IMO.

Hi, yes, I'm back home. Just touched down in Singapore four hours ago (at 4.20am).

Of the 16 Seattle-area winters that I've seen, this has been the coldest and weirdest. With ornamental cherry trees blooming about a month late, snow has been falling for hours. I don't expect it to last very long, but it sure is pretty.

Back from a holiday in New Zealand's South Island. A lot warmer that I expected. Cold overnight at Mt Cook (10 C), but temperates were in the 20s most days. It is very dry for NZ. We only had one day of rain in over 2 weeks.

A few pictures here. I'll add some more when I have time.

It's a bright, bright, sunshiny day!

Did you have a good holiday, Kach?

We have approximately 10-15" of snow, depending on what part of town you are in...

And the forecast calls for 20C by the weekend. I love Calgary. Really.

More snow (mixed with rain and sleet or hail). The white roads and rooftops look very wintery, but lots of trees have new growth and there's a camellia bush with lots of red blooms just outside my window. Very unusual for mid-April.

So April 13 it was a lovely 20C. On Friday the 18th it started to snow and we're sitting at a lovely -9C at the moment with about 20-30 cm of snow that in some places has accumulated to 120cm snow banks due to the wind, snow clearing and what have you.

On a high note, the Calgary Flames won their NHL Playoff game last night, so we're not yet eliminated...

Should I just pop in to say... nice weather in Taipei city? It's getting hotter in here though, as summer approaches. I'm typing this in my hotel using it's free wireless network, at almost 3am. I'm going back to Singapore on the 6th/7th, so I'll be saying (a rather reluctant) goodbye to Taiwan.

The next two days will be very busy indeed, as me and my buddies will be rushing around Taipei to visit, play and eat everything that's available. I certainly hope the weather will be kind to us!

No bank holiday on Monday for me, though our office north of London is closed.

Today it is overcast, and either drizzling or lightly raining. We officially began that time of year we call "May Gray", followed closely by June Gloom. It's overcast most of the time.

Newbies come to San Diego on holiday right about now, especially after some of our schools close up shop (university usually) and wonder what happened to the California sun. Well it's indeed there, just hiding behind the thick cloud cover which develops as the cold of winter merges into the warmer spring weather. There is afterall a very large body of water next door that loves to waft into the atmosphere and humidify the winds blowing on shore. That's what keeps this area cool, at least on the coast where I am.

But we've been yo-yoing of late worse than at any time I can remember. One day it's trying to crack 90 degrees and the next it can't pass the 65 degree mark. Instability in the weather is common when transitioning winter to spring or summer to autumn, but this has been residing on the far side of ridiculous of late.
