Here is the storyline so far

M1:A Craving for Snakehead Soup.
Greetings young apprentise Yang. I am Baigang Fu, city manager to Chu. I propose a project for you to manage. The lake within our territory has a variety of Snakehead Fish that has become a delicacy. Develope the lake islands into a Fishing enterprise to meet the demands of our allies; whom have provided the funds for this project. You going to have to show profitability as well meet their projected demand while feeding this fishing village. The lake is prone to flooding, this spring snowmelt will likely cause a flood. And finally build a Great Temple on the lake to appease Nu Wa and protect the village from future floods. Workcrews are working on a spillway project elsewhere, but prayers never hurt.
End: Congratulations young master! Our Allies are most pleased. Xiangyang is quite interested in your management skills. Good luck in your career as a city manager.

M2: Xiangyang
Well, your on your way to Xiangyang and Shemna with the Paper Money loan repayments. Both are in ruins and the only officials you found have appointed you as Mayor. Use the money to rebuild, the dead and fugitive don't expect a loan repayment.

The story goes...Emperor Yang Kuan sent one of his generals out to collect tribute. When Shenmu was unable to pay, he burned down the town to serve as an example to others. When the general went to Xianyang to collect tribute, the people fled in fear that he intended to slaughter them. The General was mad so burnt the town down. Not the smartest general and soon to loss his head.

Xianyang has no resources that can be marketed at this time, so the city must survive on tax revenues. Build the city and collect the tax profits that the Emperor demands. Appease Shen Nong with a Splendis Temple to lessen the memory of past transgresions. Remember also, he who fails the Emperor may have his head severed from his body.

A test run of M1 is available in the Completed City section of Downloads.

I have done most of my preliminary edits to M3 MAP; not sure how the Great Wall will go with cliffs up against it on the original MAP. Memory doesn't serve me if this is one of the 'cheat past' missions at some point.

Gweilo;
Would Kevin be interested in playtesting(M1/M2)? I don't mind if he publishes a video. Not like an |Easy| campaign is going to be popular thru the years.

PS: Updated profile EMail to account I check regularly.

As you may know, Kevin has made numerous YouTube videos from his livestream playing of Emperor, and he seems to like doing Open Play sessions on new maps. My suggestion is that you upload your map here at EH and then send a message to Kevin to see if he is interested in downloading it and featuring it for a livestream event. He always seems to record his livestreams and uploads them to YouTube shortly thereafter.

Finished playtesting M3, made a number of Empire Map adjustments, Looked over the remaining original M4-M7 missions and concluded Neil was trying to show the 4 quarters development of a final city.

I think I'm going to diverge from his storyline starting in M4, ending the campaign in 5 missions. M4 starts to encroach on a SE Naval Kingdom which causes a little friction for a peaceful time. M5 will 'draw lines' on the kingdom maps with more military buildups...

PS: I believe I created a good diverse trade environment; enough to clue in future events along the way and present difficult chooses for M4, but nothing breaks the 'Easy' target. Advanced players could have fun exploiting the game system in M4 if not before. That's before considering if I should allow spying and breaking alliances starting in M4 maybe M3.

In my opinion, if you disallow sabotage by spies you need to rate the campaign at least 'normal'.

The same with disallowing breaking alliances, especially if any mission has a 'rule cities' mission goal.

Good to know that; mostly peaceful and Im allowing them on all but M1(player is an apprentice not a policy maker). Using 'factions' so all the Chinese cities are allied. Here is the empire map; hope I got the history part right for 370CE-400CE. The city names and placement probably aren't but its based on Neil's Campaigns which was fiction. I'll take suggestions for name changes; the WEI label designates the capital. I'll probably move the Nomad to above/left of Yangshao since it is the only activity with it.

You may want to reread post #1 in the thread below. However, if you do manage to get the sabotage to work selectively by mission, please share your trick!

Also, on the page at the link below from our Gallery there are 3 maps of China during the Spring and Autumn period, and they should help you build accuracy on your Empire map.

I'm satisfied with the 4th mission, maybe a little gift for the player that doesn't plan ahead much. Tweaked the Empire map a bit, Kingdom of Nanyue and traded goods.

Starting to think on the 5th and final city map and goals. Impressive city that is the 'Trading Gateway' to this fictional China; something that could be played in continuation if the player desired. So a Huge or Enormous Map that fits the region.
Mid August -> Sept.

Here is the final map in it's rough stage. I'm thinking of the central valley for trade walkers(entry=N, exit=S) and farming. the heights for city development have a few sinkhole water pools.

Enormous Humid Map

Not bad for a blurry eyed morning try.
