For a military exercise at Shoalwater Bay, in the Northeastern part of Australia. I'm going to be there for a month (ie. until 22nd November). I may not have been posting much over the past few months, but I've been lurking around all the time. Now I can't even do that for the next 30 days.

Bye everyone! I'm going off to the airport in half an hour's time. *waves*

I want it to end and I'm also defending myself, don't you mean nano and nando.
Somtimes I think that there should be an age restriction for membership, If not that a "Maturity restriction"
Just defending myself and I'm not actually likes this.

The best way of ending it is not replying especially as you have made the point. I just hope the other guys takes the hint and stop before it's too late. GillB has allready asked for the spamming to stop.

Hi all. Well, there's actually a pathetically (and infuriatingly) slow internet connection in the camp, and I'm using it now... Took almost half an hour till I could get to this posting page. So far so good here, but the training terrain is screwed up... nothing fun about it at all. I'll be moving out to another worse camp tomorrow for the actual exercise itself.

Anyway, it's kinda dismaying to see my thread degenerating into a spamfest by a bunch of newbies.

Yeah, it deserved better.

Anyhow, have a good excercise. Remember: Train hard - fight easy!

So far so good
Glad to hear it. How's the weather? I see the max today was 32. It's got to be hard training at that temperature.

Yeah, sorry about your thread. Good luck with the rest of your camp.

Sorry for the spam I just don't like people saying bad things about my country, my account may be new but I'm not new to HG. Australia can get really hot sometimes, like in the Army Cadets you do like 5 hours of marching in the heat and sometimes in the rain. Must be hard doing all that training.

I hope everything is going good, DX! It's been a long time since we last had a real conversation, but its good to see you're doing well!

I got back to Singapore at 2am today. Still trying to sort out a lot of things (both internet and RL) that I couldn't work on over the past month. Email alone took me an hour to settle.

The exercise was quite an experience for me. I'm still new in my unit as the platoon sergeant, so I learnt a great deal in this past month - both on military stuff and how to handle subordinates.

Kach, the weather was pretty good. It's really dry in Australia, but we managed to get about 3 days of rain there. At first I really couldn't get used to the cold mornings and early sunrises/sunsets. I would wake up in the morning freezing in my pants. And yes Nanodude, it does get pretty hot during daytime.

It was pretty fun at times travelling all over the training area in a Land Rover. The roads were pretty bad and when it rained, awfully muddy. There were a lot of hills to climb too. SWBTA had very boring landscapes. It's either just trees or plains with a few mountains here and there in the distance. It's hard not to fall asleep sometimes.

We had a couple of days for R&R before we left Australia, but it was at Rockhampton, a very sleepy city (I'd call it a large town though). It was really very boring, and our main entertainment was just drinking and playing cards at night. Anyway, yes, it's really very far from where you are, Mere. Melbourne IIRC?

ZigZac, hi there. How are you doing now man?

Hi DX so you joined the Army. I was thinking of doing that but it would have to have been either British or Czech because I'm very anti-South African.

Anyways. Good Luck to you. May you Prosper.

No Czech, I'm just serving 2 years of compulsory National Service for my country. No way I'm going to join in as a regular soldier. There are so many more opportunities and liberties in the outside world.
