Hello everyone, I'm new here. I hope this is the appriopriate place to post my question.

I am helplessly but willingly hooked to those lovely citybuilding games since I accidently bought a copy of Zeus this summer. I now got Ceze 3, Pharaoh, Zeus, Emperor and my appetite for cities is growing.
And yes, the moment I buy Cleopatra and Poseidon I shall be the luckiest citybuilding empress.

Now, my question:
Does anyone of you know (or can recommend) other such great games?
I am looking for citybuilding or imperium building (no war games of pure army management),
old school isometric (less use of RAM)
the more mythological and supernatural creatures involved, the better.
Ideally, another version of Zeus would be the cigar.

I have just stumbled upon older versions Age of Mythology, Age of Empires and Rising Nations in the game store, which one of those would meet most of my discriminating criteria?

I greet you all!

Gotta build them all!

"The luck on getting a good citybuilders has decreased since now all they make are MMORPG, FPS etc."

Cruel world! The humanity!
And so I shall play the custom CBG scenarios till the gaming world changes.

Gotta build them all!

Try the contests here, I'm having a lot of fun with the old contests, too

Interesting topic, this. I've been away from the forum for a while and missed the first posts.
But what a coincidence:
Since the last Dutch Date I am the proud owner of the very copies of Rise of Nations that Pontius rejected! And as he rejected CIV and Stronghold Deluxe Edition, I have them as well!

Can you imagine the utter confusion that surrounds me now? I have most of the games mentioned (including Anno 1602 and Simcity 4 + Rush Hour expansion) and now can't decide which to play when I'm tired of Emperor.

Just play them all. Each one has its merits and drawbacks, it all depends on what you like and what you don't. You can have great fun with any of these games!

Just play them all
With an avarage of 3 playing hours a week, it'll take a while .

I started on Emperor in August 2005 and am in the Silk Road campaign now. Probably takes half a year to finish all the standard campaigns.

That's right, but on the upside you'll have years of fun waiting for you...

And when I have played them all, I can start all over again with C3 because by then I have forgotten what it was.

I'll be playing Zeus/Poseidon then when I retire. (which is scheduled for 2022).
