I have the GOG Pharaoh Gold bundle with Cleopatra. Whenever I try to change resolutions either it crashes or the mouse behaves strangely and toolbars all disappear.
I've tried many things. Booting in compatibility with 98 / XP SP 2&3, 16 bit color. Widescreen res patch. Nothing I've googled seems to work =(.
I can play at the lowest resolution but it really is a different experience when you can see so little at a time.

Windows 10. I will try the GOG page and see if those suggestions work.

So, I randomly started to have a similar problem, where the game would act up or crash after changing the resolution or putting it in full screen mode. I ended up following the support that gog gave for my game not starting at all, then updating the game again after that. (as my game just decided not to load at all after Gog galaxy updated). The only compatibility setting I have is the colors set to 16bit, which I didn't have before.
I will ask if you've tried a fresh install. it could be your game itself is the problem.

When I try using certain widescreen fixes for GOG Pharaoh Gold, the game fails to start if the game is installed on my partitioned 'D' drive, using Windows 10, where I normally install my games.
If I install the game to the root of the 'C' drive the game and widescreen fixes work fine.
So the install location seems to be a problem, at times.
