Hi all,
I've just come back to this game (Caesar IV) after a while and three Windows versions later. The install seems to go ahead with no problem, but when I try and run the game, I get the following error message:-

"Please remove disc from current CD/DVD drive and insert the original "Caesar IV" disc in drive H:"

Two points, 1. The No1 disc is in my optical drive G and 2. drive H is a partition on my WD My Book external drive F.

I have tried installing outside the Program Files folder, changing compatibility to Win XP SP3 and running as administrator, without success. The game is a purchased copy with a valid key code, so I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows10/Radeon R7870 2GB GDDR5/16Gb DDR3/Blu-Ray drive.

Hi OzBoz

The problem is that the copy protection software for the game is not compartible with Windows 10.

As far as I know, the game use SecuRom so try their support site:

https://support.securom.com/index.html

Hope above is of help to you.

Never had a securom issue with installers, and Win 10 should run C4(cd/dvd) as it does with many of the other CB series cd/dvd installations. It is the digital downloads that were at issue. [yes there are new Win10 issues but they will run]

With an optical drive assigned 'H'; after a number of other external/removable data drive. I'm wondering if the Optical drive is also external/removable.

Standard practices should have internal cd/dvd drives assigned immediately after internal data drives or

-Computer management>Storage/'Disk Management' assigned to drives X, Y and Z.

to avoid removable storage issues.

happy gaming

If you have the spare money, and can't get it to work no matter what you try, you could buy it from GOG.com
https://www.gog.com/game/caesar_iv
These games also frequently go on sale, so you might want to wait for that.(at least Zeus and Pharaoh do)
