Hi all,

I like building scenario's for the Caesar3 game. It takes some time, valuable time. I like throwing competitions with them. I did a few in the past years, some with satisfactory acclaim and results. That took even more time, precious time.
Why bother? There is CBC: http://citybuildingcontests.net/and they do it all the time, with rotating builders/organizers and for the whole Impressions Citybuilders community, not just Caesar3.

Still I would like to do one for Caesar3, coming summerhols. But, I want to know if there are enough people who are interested. If I do the work and only two players show up to compete, I feel like that voluntary election campaigner for a no hope candidate.
Please post pledges here you are able and willing to play my creation and I will start the proces of creating and organizing

Announcements and instructions will follow suit.

But it ain't necessarily so.

As I understand it you are suggesting to make a little Caesar 3 contest here at Heavengames, if that's the case then I'm in. Will be fun finding out if I have forgotten everything about playing that great game or only two thirds.

I guess my participation would depend on the nature of the competition.

PP might I suggest that you run your event, if it comes to fruition, both here and on CBC simultaeously. This way you will get the maximum participation.

C3 seems to have waves of popularity, at the moment, for one reason or another, it seems to be in a trough as far as contest participation goes. It has had many previous resurgences and I have no doubt it will have more.

PP, I am designing one for real newbies to be run at cbc(and only newbies, we plan to have an open thread where the more experienced players can offer advice to questions). It might be good to run my contest also at the same time.

If it is a competition for newbies then I would compete. Of course it would depend on the type of competition. Post some details and when it is going to be and if I can do it I will.

Hmm, the thread is moving elsewhere now.

I am planning in my head up to now. The only thing to move me into actually creating and organizing is a pledge by some number of would be competitors for a competition on a level well above newbie. I can only do hard work during the summer, but that is not your problem, I will work on the whole project months earlier on a weekend only base so it will fit in the end. I will go ahead if some half dozen pledges are made. Then again I have no guarantee all who pledged will really compete when the shit hits the fan, but that's the risk I will take. Pledges like "I would like to but it depends on the kind of competition, scenario, difficulty etc" are accepted.
Me working under the umbrella of CBC is not likely, but I will post the challenge there as well on their forum.

But it ain't necessarily so.

I don't think I would play a contest, a challenge maybe, but I'll be happy to test for you.

Well thank you Josh, if I press on I might need your testing skills. Whenever somebody does testing for me, competing in that same challenge is ofcourse out of the window.
Mmm, this is really good news, Josh is a meticulate tester and it might save me precious work and time.

Now I still need some more players.

But it ain't necessarily so.

So you sent it CC to GQ, or was it PP to CC? Don't worry, when there is a contest, you will have the opportunity to play it.

I guess when we advertise it at CBC, there will be some more competitors, and we could ask Tim (?) to make the file available for our French audience . Got that covered through CBC as well.
