first, hello!

Second:

I'm trying to use the mission editor and have it decently figured out however when it comes to trade routes I'm at an impasse

I set up my city, then around four trade cities. I make sure they are listed as a trade city, edit them to buy/sell, add route number and price then go in and add the route and plot them out.

Here's my issue, only ONE of the trade cities comes up for trading. I've tried right clicking on the pre-existing city graphic as well as adding a city and it's the same.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks

Hi Rheddedet, welcome to Pharaoh Heaven

It would appear you are doing everything right, so it's a bit difficult to see the cause of the problem. You probably need to check the numbering of the routes in case there are any duplicates or that you have not skipped a number. This can happen if you have deleted a route and not replaced it with one with the same number.

Other things to check..Did you set the demand quantities? Are the trade routes by land or by sea/water?

Hope that helps, please post again and let us know how you get on.

"Can I draw you a beer, Norm?"
"No, I know what they look like. Just pour me one."
Cheers !!

That glitch could be a result of trying to play a map designed in Cleopatra on the original Pharaoh, which won't work. However, try what GQ said above. =]

Thank you,

I've been through all of the trade routes and they are numbered sequentially. I'll have to play with it more probably some minuscule thing I am overlooking. Another thing I am having issues with is I set the fishing grounds, set it up for having fish, check the allowed buildings and the fishing wharves are allowed but when I get to the map I have no fishing wharf option??

Also GraniteQ, they are land routes I have tried to change it to water routes if the city is on the river and it wont switch over to water route for some reason.

I am running Pharaoh Gold with Cleo exp.

Do you have the 2.1 patch installed? What OS are you running?

A tip I found years ago , when a trade road soon exist be very careful when clicking on one of the cities , as a little slide of the sprite can disconect the road ...

If this bad click happens on your city when all roads are set except the last , only the last works properly .

they are land routes I have tried to change it to water routes if the city is on the river and it wont switch over to water route for some reason. Check " River entry " and " River exit ".

[PNG, (170.38 KB)] [PNG, (176.39 KB)]I have been having this problem in Pharaoh Cleopatra where my routes are either not what I selected for resources, or just an empty city. This is after I place a trade route, select all the resources of trade cities, edit route numbers, select prices, and the land/sea selection. Did I miss anything? I will post pictures soon.

I've also had this happen to some of my own maps, I just ignored it (I play cleopatra, no way around it).

Some ridiculous number of years later, I have finally found the solution to this. You have to associate a city with a route. Each city has a route number that can be filled in. The city has to have a valid route number for the trade items you specify to appear.
