I'm playing Giza and all was going fantastic until... no more bazaar buyers/walkers! I have checked all the SY and 2 of my 3 granaries are full and directly connected to my bazaars. What would cause this? Just a full on bug?

Is everything fully staffed? All the yards, granaries, bazaars? Are you stockpiling any of the goods?
Also the bazaar buyer will wait until the citizen has returned from his labour-seeking walk before buying anything so it can take a while for a new bazaar to start buying.

I eventually found a granary had 9/12 staff and it seemed to be the halting factor..?
I was also curious how to distribute food if various blocks are isolated (as to encourage better dock distribution) as I can't seem to have a granary 'receive' food without being linked by a road to a food gathering resource (like a field or hunting camp). I had a devil of a time in On with all the various ferry links to get food to the mining block and in the end I'm not even sure what I did to make it happen.

Yep, store yards and granaries need 100% employment to work. So it's usually best to set industry and food production as priorities for workers.
If you don't mind a bit of micromanagement, you can have a store yard "get" the food from a disconnected yard, then set the SY to "accept" and the granary to "get" (and you also have to set the disconnected yard to "get").
Much better to just connect the roads though, if you can afford it. Keeping the dockers in line is pretty simple, have an otherwise-empty SY accepting each import, and make sure they are cleared quickly.
For exports, total up the max number that could be in SYs far away from the dock, and use that as the "export over" number. Then have the overflow in an SY close to the dock. Dockers will never go past the yards you want them to.
Food distribution is one of the trickiest parts of the game, because of the amount eaten, and the even bigger amount that houses just hide away in the cupboards for later. Putting more houses closer to the food sources helps. Farm cart-pushers can deliver huge distances so having a couple of accepting SYs next to a getting granary, next to housing, works well. Fish/game meat etc is harder because they can only deliver a short distance without affecting supply, so it's usually best to only feed them to nearby housing. Also having bazaars as close as possible to granaries helps a lot. Compared to food, pottery/beer/linen etc is very easy to move to far-off places.

Ah very useful, thank you.
I just realized that game meat has always been a thorn in my side and your reply totally elucidated my hunch.

Put the hunters as close to the herds as possible, and put a store yard just over the road from them, then use getting granaries.
The problem with game meat is that even when it's working, they still spend a lot of time with 500 meat stored and no hunters working, so it looks like they're doing nothing! Combine that with all the things that can go wrong (hunters going to distant herds, birds spawning on floodplains, possibly just some bugs in the game) and they can be really frustrating.
After building Baki with 16,000 people eating game meat I wouldn't recommend having to rely on it!

om my custom maps I usually set a storage yard to accept game meat near them, along with making dedicated granaries for each of the food types when I have the space/workers for them.

Awesome info, the VSY's are surprisingly easy to set up. Thank you both!

Thanks! That looks right - the only store yard I've ever tested (in Baki) had 100 tiles to get just over 2500 copper/year across to the dock, so that fits perfectly.
With food it pays to over-supply of course to build up stores so it might be worthwhile to double the food consumption number.
