on the weekend i played the "empire" contest map, and i watched a ferryboat, year after year, get stuck on the same flood plain.
this game could really use some AI programming. i mean if i was a ship captain, i would eventually learn not to sail onto the floodplain.
or if i was a market lady, i would eventually learn that no one lives on the floodplains or in certain industrial areas and i would learn after a while not to go there.

Or if I was a city builder, I wouldn't stick the ferry landing by the flood plain. I'm laughing because I've done it many, many (too many) times.

Or place a ferry crossing in hippo turf. In On, one of the hippos chose to sit in the water in front of the ferry landing to the middle island. Only about 1 in 10 immigrant boats made it past him. Made for a very slow game.

Yeah, that happened for me to. That damned critter must've sunk like, 75-100 boats.
