I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about the user-created cities and scenarios available for download. Can anyone recommend some good ones which have little to no military activity? I don't mind the difficulty levels etc, but I really hate the military!

Not any of mine... except Nano Nekhen and Nekhen gardens, or the ones branded "not invasive", "not military", or set at Normal and specified within the comment. Also, know that when you are allowed towers and warships, you do not have to bother about military invasions, it is quite easy to destroy the CARRIERS before the land troops.
If you do not want a military scenario, download MAP files, check out the list of events and, eventually, remove the ones you dislike.

Hello Julia Domna, welcome to Heaven

I can't give you any specific scenarios to play, but if you scroll down the list at the 'Fan Created Scenarios' section, look out for any made by Cherub Baltic, they are well worth playing.

Or you could look at those where other players have made a positive comment.

As Tryhard says, the author should tell you which are military and those which are not.

I recently played a mission named "Amarna" by Erndog, it was nice and peaceful with lots of requests and events.

Also "Cemetery gates" and "Hiddencity" by Spemb are good missions.

I think you must have Cleo installed to play these missions, at least Amarna, because you must build a tomb.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone, I'll give them a go!

I was having trouble choosing which ones to try, because some of them don't really specify in the comments whether or not there will be military activity.

Pharoah is my favourite in this series, but I must say that I do like the option of bribing armies to go away that Emperor gives you!

Using an old thread to pass on a message. I uploaded Seti in the Valley but am not sure it went through? Our cybercafes here are infestated with piracy. Instead of having the message: Accepted by Angel Draco (though he has gone now), I get a "buy a car" or "enlarge your whatever" ad.

Yes, it did arrive and has been approved.

Thank you GillB.

I made a run of 20 years at 100% speed on Ramses in the Valley. How annoying this mission! I found no challenge of any kind, except maybe show again how to fence the frogs.

Also, nothing at all happened during the storm, except my ships sunk. It seems the game was to bothered with the flow of people and gave up killing anybody.

Since the tips for new builders is not an active topic I was hoping that someone would see a post here. Does someone have a current link to the "legend" used in the housing links in the tips topic? The one in the archived forum topics links to a "page not found". I found these posts extremely enlightening and they will save me alot of grief. Just reading them I hit my head and went DOH! It was amazing. I can figure out much just by the descriptions but it would be crystal clear if someone still has a valid legend I could see. I am truly sorry I did not discover this game when it was newly released. I obviously missed alot of fun! Thanks for any further help!

Hi dragonarc, welcome to Pharaoh Heaven.

I don't know what you mean by "the tips for new builders", "the tips topic", or "the archived forum topics".

The legend link in most glyphs is indeed broken. You can get a valid legend by going to the Housing Block Layout Generator (PharaohGlyph) page (in the Strategy section) and clicking on "Legend". However, in many glyphs, if you hold the cursor over an object for a few moments then the name of the object appears. (If that doesn't work, right-clicking on an object and selecting "Properties" (at least with Internet Explorer) should give the name of the file displayed for that object, which generally is enough to figure out the object.)

By the way, every Heavengames forum except for the Archives (which are Read Only) should be monitored regularly by at least one staff member (and often by many other forumers), so any new post (in a new or old thread) that deserves a response should get one within a couple of days (usually much less).

Thanks for the welcome and the response. I will try your suggestions. I am sorry I meant the Topic of "Links for new users" or whatever the first topic that appears in the list is called. I seem to have short term memory loss :-( Then I was accessing some of the housing related links that seem to access what looked like old forum posts or mixtures of posts and regular web pages.

Thanks for the info. I will take a closer look tonight when I get home. (I am checking the site on my lunch break from work) :-) I guess I am addicted!
