I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about the user-created cities and scenarios available for download. Can anyone recommend some good ones which have little to no military activity? I don't mind the difficulty levels etc, but I really hate the military!

Not any of mine... except Nano Nekhen and Nekhen gardens, or the ones branded "not invasive", "not military", or set at Normal and specified within the comment. Also, know that when you are allowed towers and warships, you do not have to bother about military invasions, it is quite easy to destroy the CARRIERS before the land troops.
If you do not want a military scenario, download MAP files, check out the list of events and, eventually, remove the ones you dislike.

Using an old thread to pass on a message. I uploaded Seti in the Valley but am not sure it went through? Our cybercafes here are infestated with piracy. Instead of having the message: Accepted by Angel Draco (though he has gone now), I get a "buy a car" or "enlarge your whatever" ad.

Since the tips for new builders is not an active topic I was hoping that someone would see a post here. Does someone have a current link to the "legend" used in the housing links in the tips topic? The one in the archived forum topics links to a "page not found". I found these posts extremely enlightening and they will save me alot of grief. Just reading them I hit my head and went DOH! It was amazing. I can figure out much just by the descriptions but it would be crystal clear if someone still has a valid legend I could see. I am truly sorry I did not discover this game when it was newly released. I obviously missed alot of fun! Thanks for any further help!

Thanks for the welcome and the response. I will try your suggestions. I am sorry I meant the Topic of "Links for new users" or whatever the first topic that appears in the list is called. I seem to have short term memory loss :-( Then I was accessing some of the housing related links that seem to access what looked like old forum posts or mixtures of posts and regular web pages.
Thanks for the info. I will take a closer look tonight when I get home. (I am checking the site on my lunch break from work) :-) I guess I am addicted!
