I've been crusing through the standard campaign missions but today I decided to get some city building practice in. On the custom Cataract (I think) map I'm working on building my city but I need boats to fish. So I built a couple of docks and a shipwright and started to harvest the meager amount of wood on this map.
The problem I have is that whenever the shipwright produces a ship, it immediately turns on it's side and sinks. I have deleted the shipwright, deleted the fishing wharfs and multiple combinations but this constantly happens. I have witness no less than 10 ships go down.
Any one have an answer so I can prevent this from happening?
1 thing - you don't need wood in order to build fishing boats.
As for what could be going wrong, that's a strange one . Are your fishing wharves within easy reach of the shipwright (by water, of course ). Alternatively, do you have problems keeping the wharves fully staffed? If they lose workers, their fishing boat sinks.
Make sure the wharves are situated at the deep water's edge.I realized this after I lost a lot of ships at Sandbox

I had the same thing happen to me in Sawu. It was caused by placing a fishing wharf in an area that was unreachable by the newly built boat (due to the wharf being on the other side of a bridge).
