hi ya! I jus finished Abu(with a lower-than-dirt score of like, -46 thousand something-i don't really consentrate on the score that much). Anyway, now i'm in Saqqara and I think I need some tips. I don't quite think I'm doin the housing blocks right, I'll have to look into that. So, does anyone have any tips for me???

Build gold mines to supplement your trade revenues, because it took me a while to get the money flowing, as I had to import a lot of goods for the pyramid. This is also your first action using irrigation, so be sure to read the tutorial on the subject at the beginning of the scenario. You need to build Plain stone quarries to make the stones for the pyramid(it takes a lot of them), and don't forget your stone masons and carpenters, too. You have two food sources(meat and Pomegranates[sp.]),and you can produce beer and pottery. I finished with elegant residences. I think you could get higher housing than that, but I didn't need it. My main problem was keeping enough imported goods handy(clay and barley) to last while I waited for the roads to clear.(Sandstorms will cut off trade routes temporarily). I also got impatient waiting for the pyramid to be finished!

heh, well, I pretty much knew all that ,but thanks anyway. OH! I think this would be a technical problem but i'll put it here since it's somewhat in the same category-kinda. ok, I'm on the last level on my step-pyramid, but it seems that my carpenter guy is just frozen in place! he's not moving! And all my stonemason's are wating!!! And just when I get my presperity rating high enough(I ALWAYS seem to have problems with that!)!!! I could've been DONE with it by now, but noooo! *sigh* any ideas???

Did your carpenters run out of wood? As far as the stone masons are concerned, I think they wait for laborers to bring more stone. Sometimes it took my laborers a long time to get moving. Can't say i blame them, though, I wouldn't want that job!

yeah, my carpenters have plenty of wood! and when I right-clicked on the stonemason's they said that they were waiting for the carpenter and they said that he was taking his "dear sweet time" hehehe.

Delet and rebuild your carpenter's guild, and see if that solves the problem.

heh, sorry but, I tried that too! I think my computer's just kinda stuck or something, but I could try rebuilding the guild a second time.

Try deleting your pyramid and immediately undo the delete...this will force new carpenters and stone masons to report on duty. Hope this helps.

Hmmm....although it sounds somewhat tricky, I'll try it! I just hope that I remember to undo it quick enough!

Save before you do it. That way if you screw up, you can try again. And let us know how it works out.

oh, ok. Will do. But if I do screw up, it'll be REALLY bad cuz they take a long time to build...but at least I won't have any stone shortage problems!
*one day later*
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! IT WORKED!!!! i'm almost done with it now! thanx again!
*about an hour later*
what's wrong with this thing!?! I have all the requirements needed-the step-pyramid, all my ratings, and my population-but I haven't won yet!?! Why won't it let me move on!!! * one day later*
oh, the problem was I didn't get all the burial provisions. Well, now that that problem is over, I have another one- After finishing Saqqara, I chose to go to Meidum. In plain terms-MY CITY IS FAILING! I tried using a housing block that I got off here...in my opinion, I was better off with what I was doing b4. Everything keeps collapsing and catching on fire( I DO have architects and fire wardens!)...is there any way I can go back and choose the other one?(even though it sounds pretty hard)

Never actually played Meidum (Serabit Khadim, the other choice is sooo much easier, takes 8 years max, 6 on average on any difficulty).
Load a save of Saqqara from the time you almost won, wait to win and chose the other city.
If you don't have a save, download somebody else's city and use that one to win. Just please - don't download my Saqqara, I'm so ashamed of it now.
well, ya see, the problem is...I always overwrite my old saved games. I only have one saved game. I think Saqqara's doing pretty good so far, so, if I need help, I'll come back-thanx!
