I unmothballed an old project that got boring. This project is about 50% completed(90 segments done).

Hoping for;
3 Gates(3 done)
6 4 Towers(reworking this as I shorten my layout)
land and water trade routes
some wiggle room for elevation changes in the Gate areas(can add later if desired. For present it is a flat GW.)
by second week of Sept.

Mapper doesnt like the incomplete GW so I had to stitch an image together.

Cannot be used for 'Open Play' as it is a GW, but some designer could use it in a Campaign.

Rules I learned while doing this project of GW editing
1. A definite limit to size/length of GW exist, regardless of a properly setup build phases. The Defending Bing Campaign final GW may be the longest possible regardless of my recollection of a 10 year old sign conversation that it was short of the maximum.
2. The first section(line#0) must be location 0,0(x,y). Everything is offset from that location.
3. Can only have 1 Gate. [darn it]
4. emperormapper.exe errors out on these non-standard GW configurations. Did for this project and for Defending Bing.

Fullscreen showing I do use Pecunia's sgreader.exe which greatly speeds new section constructions.

edit update: 154 segments completed(4 towers and 3 gates), tomorrow I'll starting to work on the GWroads and construction phases.

I cut the GW down to just 1 Gate. Oh well, I got a long curvy/wavy GW that is nearly as boring as the standard ones. At least I have a nice extended box that is going to save a little on construction materials. Hmm... Forbidden City protection? Anyway, I foresee most of the Enormous map being on the players side with a little more Effort, yes.



Lesson learned you cant have more then 1 Gate.

Maybe I will turn this into the Shortest GW project; just enough to keep invasions from the corner to not spawn inside the players side.

I tested both of the following 'Shortest Great Wall' Monuments and conclude this project. They will fit on a Small Map. An Earthen GW uses 12 wood and 13 dirt.
