I checked through and couldn't see any problems - the barracks had good access to workers, she had full employment+the barracks was never short of workers. She tried removing the barracks and replacing it somewhere else, and the same problem persisted. The barracks was also linked up to all the towers by road access, as well as the rome to road, and none of the forts were blocked (so could all be accessed).
In terms of resolving this problem I eventually tried exploiting the barracks cheat, and created 8 barracks to see if any would work, and all the extra ones I put in did work (+ all produced units). After keeping 1 of the extra ones and removing the others the problem seemed resolved. However I was wondering if there was any reason this problem occured, and if that is the only way of fixing it.
The second problem has happened on several assignments now, and is caused (I think) by gatehouses. She's started off on assignments with a fairly standard loop design, with the only access from the loop being through a gatehouse (that then leads to the road to rome). However, after a few months/a year, the city's sentiment starts to go downhill. Despite holding numerous festivals to venus (and making sure that there are enough temples to Venus), as well as having a shortage of workers rather than unemployment, and having 0% taxes and paying higher wagse than rome, people still are consistently annoyed with her (they're usually almost all in small casas at the time). As a result they eventually start to leave the city. This problem doesn't have a clear solution from my experiments, as on one province simply building houses outside the loop seemed to solve the problem. However, on the next assignment it didn't. I tried creating another gatehouse alongside the first one in the loop, but it had no effect. However, I then created a gatehouse on another part of the loop, and extended the main road (that leads to rome) up to this gatehouse, and it did solve the problem (n/t: This was in effect the same road that the first gatehouses were attached to).
She encountered the barracks bug on the original caesar 3 version, so I thought I'd install the patch to see if it made any difference, but it hasn't. However she has only experieced the city mood problem on the game with the patch (although I expect it would have occured without the patch as well). I myself have never experienced either of these problems when I've been playing Caesar 3 though, and can't see any logical explanation for any of them occuring.
Is anyone able to shed some light on these problems?
