I have enjoyed the city building games since they came out and loved extending the games by creating my own scenarios for them. Especially Caesar 3 and Zeus to fill out the historical timelines.
I downloaded Emperor from GOG recently and am playing it for the first time. I was thinking of extending the the timeline further along up to about the mid 1700's and create cities like Hong Kong and Singapore and establish trade with the Americas, Japan Korea and other areas.
However the editor doesn't appear to allow the user to name their own cities and trade partners? Instead giving a list of names to choose from. This is strange since the Zeus editor allowed players to name their cities anything they wanted as well as having a list to chose from. This seems to be a feature they removed from the editor for Emperor instead of adding one in.
I have looked on the site to see if there was a download to fix this. So far the closest thing I found was the Japan mod that someone made. It came with an alternate .eng file to use for the Japanese names.
So this seems to be the only way to change the names in the game. Is there a download somewhere that somehow circumvents this problem?
